摘要: A reflective sheet detector includes first and second guide plates constituting a sheet travelling path, an emitter, a receiver and a reflecting portion. The emitter is disposed on a first side of the sheet travelling path and close to a first input opening of the first guide plate. The receiver is disposed on the first side and close to a first output opening of the first guide plate. The reflecting portion is disposed on a second side of the sheet travelling path opposite the first side and is close to the second guide plate. The emitter outputs a signal to the reflecting portion through the first input opening and a second input opening of the second guide plate, and the reflecting portion reflects the signal to the receiver through a second output opening of the second guide plate and the first output opening.

摘要: A method and a device for tracking the position of the edge of a moving web (12), such as a fabric or a web of a paper machine, in which method a pressure-sensitive sensor element (14) is disposed in/onto the surface of the roll (10) guiding the web (12), which sensor element reacts to the pressure applied to it by the moving web (12) by producing an electric signal, on the basis of which it is possible to determine the exact position of the edge of the web (12) on the roll (10). The band-like sensor element (14) comprises one single sensor strip or several sensor strips (141 . . . 14n) disposed successively in the band.

摘要: An automatic paper sensing apparatus for an ink jet printer which can supply and print sheets of paper can automatically subsequently sense the existence of paper when a message indicating the absence of paper is generated. A first arm is fixed to the actuator feed in the direction of a separator, a second arm is mounted rotatably around a hinge axis at one side of the separator moved by an adjustable lever so as to interlock slidably with the first arm, the second arm being supported elastically by a tension coil spring fixed at one side thereof to the separator, one side of the actuator feed can be attached and detached to and from an optical sensor by means of the interlocking of the first and second arms. When the actuator feed and the separator are provided with an arm which is slidably interlocked with each other, the automatic sensing apparatus can automatically sense the subsequent existence of paper in order to facilitate convenient use of the printer.

摘要: An electrophotographic printing machine of the type in which a leading edge and a trailing edge of a moving sheet are detected. The improvement includes an elongated light source that is of a length greater than that of an irregularity on the moving sheet. The elongated light source extends in a direction substantially parallel to the direction of the moving sheet. A plurality of sensors are arranged in an array and are movably mounted on a support which is extended in a direction substantially parallel to the elongated light source. The elongated light source is movably mounted to another support, so as to position the light source relative to the array of sensors. A lens, interposed between the light source and the sensor array focuses light rays emitted from the light source on to the sensors. The sensors are in a receiving relationship with the light source. The elongated light source and the array of sensors define a passageway through which the moving sheet passes.

摘要: On a suction device (4, 5, 6, 21) for separating sheet films (3a) from a sheet-film stack (3), a thickness sensor (10, 11, 15, 17, 19) is mounted so as to be pivotable together with said suction device. The suction device (6, 21) releases the sheet film (3a) to be removed from a sheet-film stack (3) by bending its front section. The thickness sensor (10, 11, 15, 17) which has a forklike design is spring-biased to move onto the bent area of the sheet film (3a) still located on sheet-film stack (3). The thickness sensor comprises two levers (10, 11) with rollers (15, 17), one lever (11) being pivotable relative to the other lever (10). Depending on its path of pivotal movement the pivotably mounted lever (11) actuates a switch (19). If there is more than one sheet film (3a) between the rollers (15, 17) of the levers (10, 11) switch (19) is actuated which interrupts the sheet-film removal operation and causes its repetition. Even if the removal operation must be repeated several times the sheet film (3a) to be removed remains on the sheet-film stack (3), which prevents it from being subjected to any undesired wear and tear.

摘要: A finishing apparatus adapted to receive and fasten collated sets of copy sheets is provided. The finishing apparatus includes a stacking tray in which successive sets of fastened copy sheets can be stacked. The copy sheets are compiled on a movable compiling member, a portion of which is positioned selectively over the stacking tray. A paper path is used to transport the copy sheets to both the stacking tray and the movable compiling member so as to position one portion of each copy sheet in the stacking tray with the remaining portion of each copy sheet being located in the movable compiling member. A fastener, such as a stapler is positioned adjacent to the movable compiling member. A retracting mechanism is employed to move the portion of the movable compiling member supporting the copy sheets away from both the copy sheets and the stacking tray after the copy sheets of the set of copy sheets have been fastened to one another so that the entire set of fastened copy sheets is supported in the stacking tray.
