The pet litter system comprises a pan module and removably attached processor module. Soiled pet litter is conveniently processed by rotating a system of the invention, screening and separating soiled litter from clean litter. Pet waste and soiled litter are collected in bags which may be discarded when full. Systems of the invention may be used with both absorbent and nonabsorbent litters. Systems of the invention minimize human contact with soiled pet litter and pet waste and simplify the care of domestic pets.

摘要： An apparatus and method for separating animal waste from litter are provided. In one form, the apparatus includes a drum that contains litter and a helical rake that is rotatable in the drum. The rake can rotate relative to the drum to reduce power requirements for the rotary rake drive. Preferably, the drum is also rotatable by turning of the rake in the drum, but only for a limited, fixed angular distance which also reduces peak power requirements for the rotary drive motor for the rake.

摘要： An enclosed litter box having a slidably removable litter tray and an integral rake. The litter box includes an enclosure with an arched top having a compound curved surface. The exterior of the enclosure may be decorated with various motifs. The sliding removable litter tray includes a molded recessed handle in a front protruding surface. An upper rim of the tray includes one or more integral channels for support of a rake. Each channel may include storage and travel limit keying indentations to securely yet removably hold the rake in various positions during storage and use. The litter tray bottom may include a transverse ridge dividing the litter tray into a fresh litter area and a used litter area. By manipulating the rake, a user transfers animal wastes from the fresh litter area to the used litter area for removal.
