    摘要: Spreading factor (SF) estimation in a code division multiple access (CDMA) spread spectrum system where the SF of the data channel may change on a frame-by-frame basis to reflect a change in the data rate for each corresponding frame. The SF estimation methods despread the data channel for all possible SF values, perform maximal ratio combining (MRC) when resolved multipaths occur, take the absolute value of the MRC results, and average these absolute values over many symbol periods to obtain decision statistics for the various SF's. The SF estimation methods then post-process these decision statistics and make a SF decision.

    摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided for a User Equipment (UE) to transmit signals in response to the reception of a Downlink Control Information (DCI) format transmitted from a base station of a communication system. The DCI format may provide only the frequency resources for the transmission of signals by the UE, while other parameters associated with the transmission of signals by the UE may be either predetermined or known to the UE through other signaling from the base station. The frequency resources used for the transmission of signals by the UE may be a sub-set of the frequency resources indicated by the DCI format and the determination of this sub-set by the UE may be either deterministic or pseudo-random.

    摘要: Disclosed is multiplexing transmissions of Uplink Control Information (UCI) signals having variable payloads from User Equipments (UEs). The UCI transmission uses a first format type if its size is less than or equal to a predetermined values and it uses a second format type if its size is greater than a predetermined value. When the first format type is used the UE multiplexing is through a first method while when the second format type is used the UE multiplexing is through a second method which is different than the first method. The structure of the second format type is the same as the structure used for the transmission of data information by UEs. The UEs can also be grouped and UCI transmission can be triggered through the reception of control signaling addressing a group of UEs and indicating UCI transmission by a sub-group of UEs in the group of UEs.

    摘要: A method for the partitioning frequency resources used in the transmission of control signals and data signals by user equipments in a communication system. The control signals and data signals are for periodic transmission and dynamic transmission. Also provided is an apparatus and method for user equipments to determine the first frequency unit available for the transmission of dynamic control signals, such as acknowledgement signals associated respective reception of data signals configured through a scheduling assignment by a serving Node B. The utilization of the operating bandwidth is maximized by avoiding fragmentation and facilitates the achievement of reception reliability targets particularly for control signals.
