Abstract: A user equipment (UE) includes a transceiver configured to receive a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message including a configuration of a periodic cell discontinuous transmission (DTX) pattern for at least one serving cell. The UE also includes a processor operably coupled to the transceiver. The processor is configured to determine whether a special cell (SpCell) is configured with the periodic cell DTX pattern, determine whether a random access response (RAR) window is running, and based on a determination that the SpCell is configured with the periodic cell DTX pattern and the RAR window is running, monitor a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) of the SpCell.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided in a wireless communication system. A radio link control (RLC) protocol data unit (PDU) is obtained from a lower layer. A status PDU is generated based on the RLC PDU. The status PDU includes a first field indicating a sequence number (SN) of an RLC data unit identified as lost, a second field indicating a number of consecutively lost RLC data units starting from and including the SN, and a third field indicating whether the second field follows the first first field. The status PDU is delivered to the lower layer.

Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for increasing data transmission efficiency when performing packet duplication. A method for a terminal in a wireless communication system according to the present invention comprises the steps of: performing protocol data convergence protocol (PDCP) duplication in which an identical PDCP protocol data unit (PDU) is transmitted to a base station through each of a first logical channel and a second logical channel; when a request for retransmission of the PDCP PDU which has been transmitted through the second logical channel is received from the base station, retransmitting the PDCP PDU to the base station; and when the PDCP PDU has been retransmitted a predetermined number of times or more, receiving, from the base station, information indicating deactivation of the PDCP duplication.
