Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communication systems, and more particularly, to link-dependent scheduling request (SR) formats for ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC) in communication systems operating according to new radio (NR) technologies. A method is provided, that may be performed by a base station (BS) for wireless communications. The method includes determining one or more channel conditions for a link between the BS and a user equipment (UE). The BS assigns a SR format to the UE based on the one or more channel conditions. The UE receives the SR format assignment and transmits one or more SR transmissions to the BS according to the assigned SR format.

Abstract: A wireless device (e.g., a base station or user equipment (UE)) may encode a codeword using a polar code for transmission over a wireless channel. The device may identify a set of bit locations of the polar code for a set of information bits based on a bit index reliability sequence. The bit index reliability sequence may be based on applying an ordered combination of a universal partial order, an analytical method, and a simulation. The bit index reliability sequence may be determined based on a binary bit weighting for the set of bit channels that applies one or more weighting factors. In some cases, the device may store the bit index reliability sequence in a lookup table for encoding, decoding, or both. A device receiving the transmitted codeword may similarly utilize the bit index reliability sequence to decode the codeword and determine the transmitted information bits.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for an improved encoder for reducing repetition in polar codewords. An apparatus for wireless communication is provided. The apparatus includes at least one processor. The at least one processor is coupled with a memory. The at least one processor includes at least one encoder circuit configured to encode a set of information bits based on a cyclic redundancy check (CRC)-aided polar code to produce a codeword including polar encoded information bits and CRC bits. The at least one encoder circuit is configured to place one or more of the CRC bits at a start of the codeword and to set a value of the one or more CRC bits to a non-zero value. The apparatus includes a transmitter configured to transmit the codeword in accordance with a wireless technology across a channel via one or more antenna elements situated proximate the transmitter.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices, and systems for physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) repetition based on support signaling, such as an uplink grant that includes a time domain resource assignment for transmitting one or more data repetitions that may cross a slot boundary. The UE may identify directions (for example, uplink, downlink, flexible) for one or more symbols spanning a transmission duration of the time domain resource assignment. The directions may be determined using a dynamic slot format indication (SFI), or semi-static SFIs may be used as a fallback (when dynamic slot format indications do not meet a target reliability). The uplink grant may include an indication of which symbol directions can be used for the one or more data repetitions. A subset of the one or more symbols for scheduling the one or more data repetitions may be determined based on the identified directions.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for acknowledging receipt of a transmission, or triggering a retransmission, based on an initial decoding or measurement of the transmission. A user equipment (UE) may receive a downlink transmission and perform initial decoding or a measurement on the downlink transmission to determine an initial feedback for the downlink transmission. The initial feedback may be provided to a base station in a first set of uplink resources configured for initial feedback transmissions. The base station may receive the initial feedback, and may initiate a retransmission of the downlink transmission before a final feedback determination is made at the UE. In cases where a UE transmits an uplink transmission, the base station may perform initial decoding and may allocate retransmission resources to the UE prior to completing a final decoding of the uplink transmission.

Abstract: Various features related to a single bit ACK/NACK feedback for CBG based transmissions in a communication system are described. In an aspect, a base station may transmit, to a UE, a set of CBGs of a TB including a first subset of CBGs and a second subset of CBGs, the first subset of CBGs being transmitted on at least partially punctured resources. The base station may receive an ACK/NACK from the UE based on the transmitted set of CBGs, and retransmit to the UE one of the full set of CBGs or the first subset of CBGs based the received ACK/NACK. In an aspect, a UE may decode the set of CBGs received from the base station, transmit ACK/NACK feedback based on a result of the decoding, and receive, based on the transmitted ACK/NACK feedback, a retransmission of either the full set of CBGs, or the first subset of CBGs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communications. A transmitting device may generate first encoded bits by encoding first information bits using a polar code of a first size, N, and transmit the first encoded bits to a receiving device. After determining the receiving device failed to decode the encoded bits, the transmitting device may generate second encoded bits by encoding the first information bits using a polar code of a second size, 2N. In some cases, the transmitting device may use the first encoded bits and one or more copied information bits to generate the second encoded bits. The transmitting device may transmit the second encoded bits to the receiving device, along with an indication of the number of copied information bits used to generate the second encoded bits. The number of copied information bits may be based on changing channel conditions or transmission parameters.

Abstract: In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive downlink control information (DCI) that includes a timing value indicating a timing of an opportunity, subsequent to reception of the DCI, for transmission or reception of a communication corresponding to the DCI. The UE may determine an uplink opportunity or a downlink opportunity for transmission or reception of the communication based at least in part on the timing of the opportunity. A counter for determining the uplink opportunity may be incremented only for transmission time intervals (TTIs) in which the UE is allowed to transmit the communication in an uplink channel. A counter for determining the downlink opportunity may be incremented only for TTIs in which the UE can expect to receive the communication in a downlink channel. The UE may transmit or receive the communication in the uplink opportunity or the downlink opportunity. Other aspects are disclosed.

Abstract: A first apparatus may puncture, in at least two subslots, a first type of data or control information with a second type of data or control information. The first apparatus may bundle the least two subslots within a subframe, and the subframe may include a portion for carrying acknowledgment (ACK)/negative acknowledgment (NACK) information associated with the second type of data or control information. The first apparatus may communicate with a user equipment (UE) during the at least two subslots within the subframe. A second apparatus may receive ACK/NACK information associated with a second type of data or control information. The second apparatus may reduce a transmission power for a first type of data or control information during a subsequent subframe when the ACK/NACK information indicates a negative acknowledgement.
