Abstract:
Some techniques and apparatuses described herein allocate and/or transmit a narrower bandwidth value for LTE MTC UEs, such as UEs that operate in a small bandwidth mode using LTE procedures, and allocate and/or transmit a wider bandwidth value for 5G MTC UEs, such as UEs that can perform hopping and/or be allocated resources outside of a legacy bandwidth. For example, the wider bandwidth value may be associated with a non-LTE carrier (e.g., a 5G carrier in a 5G bandwidth) with the same center frequency as an LTE carrier associated with the narrower bandwidth value. Some techniques and apparatuses described herein provide for initial access, signaling, paging, random access, unicast communications, frequency hopping, cell-specific reference signaling, narrowband alignment, and/or other coexistence considerations for LTE MTC UEs operating on an LTE carrier and 5G MTC UEs operating on a non-LTE carrier with a bandwidth that includes the LTE carrier.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for sounding reference signal (SRS) resource configuration and processing enhancements. A method generally includes receiving, from the network, signaling indicating a sounding reference signal (SRS) configuration allocating a plurality of symbols for SRS transmissions within an uplink (UL) subframe, detecting a collision between at least one of the allocated SRS symbols and another type of UL transmission, and taking one or more actions regarding the SRS transmissions, based on the detection of the collision.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques for codebook subset restriction (CSR). In some cases, a user equipment (UE) receives, from a network entity, codebook subset restriction (CSR) information. The UE determines, based on the CSR information, a restricted beam set for a plurality of antenna panels, determines precoding matrix indicator (PMI) feedback for the antenna panels subject to restricted beam set, and provides the PMI feedback to the network entity.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to methods and apparatus for generating and encoding bits of CSI report. In some cases, a UE may determine a payload size for channel state information (CSI) reporting based, at least in part, on a supported rank, calculate a packet length for the CSI reporting based on the determined payload size, and encode the CSI for a selected CSI resource index (CRI), based on the payload size and the calculated packet length, to generate a coded packet.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the disclosure relate to mapping different information to different sub-channels. For example, information for different users may be mapped to different Polar code sub-channels. In some aspects, the mapping may be unbalanced in that different information is mapped to different sub-channels according to the quality (e.g., in terms of error probability) of the sub-channels and a criterion associated with the information. For example, control information for users that are experiencing the worst channel quality (e.g., in a wireless communication channel) may be mapped to the Polar code sub-channels that have the best quality.
Abstract:
An apparatus for wireless communication, including a memory and at least one processor coupled to the memory. The at least one processor is configured to receive a pre-allocation resource for a target cell via a handover command and transmit a physical layer acknowledgment based on a target cell downlink packet. The at least one processor is also configured to receive an indication for a communication with the target cell in response to the physical layer acknowledgement and access the target cell using the pre-allocated resource based on the indication for the communication with the target cell.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the disclosure relate to rate matching techniques for block encoding. In some aspects, a decision regarding whether to use repetition-based rate matching or puncture-based rate matching is made based on a block size of information being encoded. In some aspects, repetition-based rate matching uses a bit-reversal permutation technique.
Abstract:
Enhanced hybrid channel state information (CSI) reference signal (CSI-RS) for full dimension multiple input, multiple output (FD-MIMO) is discussed in which a base station configures a first CSI-RS resource for non-precoded CSI-RS and a second CSI-RS resource for beamformed CSI-RS. The first and second CSI-RS resources are associated with the same CSI process in a hybrid CSI-RS operation. The UE provides a first CSI report including a first rank and precoding matrix indicator (PMI) based on measurement of the non-precoded CSI-RS. The base station may use this first CSI process. CSI report for the beamforming of the beamformed CSI-RS. The UE further provides a second CSI report including a second rank, second PMI, and CQI based on measurement of the beamformed CSI-RS. Additional aspects may provide for a base station to aggregate multiple two-port CSI-RS resource configurations into a single multiport CSI-RS resource configuration that may be dynamically shared between different UEs.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques and methods for reporting channel state information (CSI) feedback, for example, for UEs capable of supporting evolved interference management traffic adaptation (eIMTA).
Abstract:
Techniques for handover into eIMTA enabled cells are disclosed. In an aspect, a target cell reconfigures RRC connection with a UE after completed handover to enable eIMTA and/or CoMP for the UE. In another aspect, a target cell includes eIMTA configuration information in a handover command to a UE. In another aspect, the target cell may estimate a virtual cell identity to generate the eIMTA configuration information and delay scheduling transmissions to the UE by flexible subframes until after handover is complete and the correct eIMTA configuration information confirmed by measurement or else corrected by RRC connection reconfiguration. In other aspects, the target cell may determine the correct virtual cell identity before handover, either by measuring SRS of the UE, or by receiving information in a handover request indicating results of CSI-RS measurement, by the UE, of virtual cells of the target cell.
