Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify that it is scheduled to transmit an uplink message during one or more symbols of a first transmission time interval (TTI) is scheduled to receive a downlink message during a second TTI subsequent to the first TTI. The UE may advance transmission of the uplink message in accordance with a timing advance (TA) value and a TA offset value, such that the timing advance offset value is zero. The UE may proceed to apply a transient power mitigation scheme to mitigate potential interference to reception of the downlink message during a transient power duration associated with turning off an uplink transmission chain used for transmitting the uplink message. In some examples, the transient power mitigation scheme may be applied based on the TA offset value being zero.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a base station may interrupt a user equipment (UE) during transport block (TB) encoding. The UE may cancel transmission (e.g., suppress processing) of a TB based on the interruption, such that a first subset of code blocks is encoded and a second subset is unencoded. In some cases, the UE may receive a re-transmission request for a code block including cyclic redundancy check (CRC) bits for the TB, where the CRC bits are not prepared. In one example, the UE may modify the CRC bits (e.g., set them to a common value, drop them, etc.) to reduce processing time. In another example, the base station may request re-transmission of all preempted code blocks, supporting TB CRC calculation. In another example, the base station or UE may extend a processing timeline for the re-transmission to support TB CRC calculation.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may transmit feedback to a base station indicating phase values for sub-bands in a bandwidth part (BWP). The base station may use the phase feedback to perform precoding on a set of beams. To support a reduced payload overhead for the feedback, the UE may implement differential phase feedback. For example, the UE may divide the BWP into a number of sub-band groups and may generate, for each sub-band group of each beam, a first set of bits indicating an absolute phase value for a first sub-band of the sub-band group. The UE may additionally generate a second set of bits indicating differential phase values for the other sub-bands of each sub-band group. The UE may report the first and second sets of bits for the beams to the base station for precoding.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first wireless device may receive a request for beamforming information associated with line-of-sight (LoS) multiple input multiple output (MIMO) communication from a second wireless device. The first wireless device may generate a channel estimation matrix for a channel between rectangular antenna arrays of the respective wireless devices, the channel estimation matrix including one or more quadratic terms for the LoS MIMO communication. The first wireless device may generate a first sub-matrix and a second sub-matrix based on the channel estimation matrix. The first wireless device may transmit an indication of a set of precoders for the LoS MIMO communication, the set of precoders based on a symmetry associated with the first and second sub-matrices, and may receive the LoS MIMO communication from the second wireless device based on the set of precoders.

In some systems, a user equipment (UE) or a base station, or both, may generate a set of orthogonal sequences that the UE may use to convey a payload of a number of bits based on a product of an orthogonal matrix and a cell-specific sequence. The UE or the base station, or both, may select a subset of the set of orthogonal sequences based on the number of bits in the payload, and the UE may construct a codebook including the subset of orthogonal sequences. The UE may select an orthogonal sequence from the constructed codebook based on the bits in the payload. The UE may transmit the payload including the number of bits to the base station using the selected orthogonal sequence.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for wireless communications. A first method includes transmitting a first Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) communications signal to a wireless node in a licensed spectrum, and transmitting, concurrently with the transmission of the first OFDMA communications signal, a second OFDMA communications signal to the wireless node in an unlicensed spectrum. A second method includes receiving a first Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) communications signal from a wireless node in a licensed spectrum, and receiving, concurrently with the reception of the first OFDMA communications signal, a second OFDMA communication signal from the wireless node in an unlicensed spectrum. A third method includes generating a periodic gating interval for a cellular downlink in an unlicensed spectrum, and synchronizing at least one boundary of the periodic gating interval with at least one boundary of a periodic frame structure associated with a primary component carrier of the cellular downlink.
