    Abstract: An apparatus, method and computer instructions are provided. The apparatus comprises means for: mapping a virtual space to a real space; associating a user's real location in the real space with a virtual location of the user in the virtual space, such that a change in the user's real location causes a corresponding change in the user's virtual location; disassociating the user's real location with the user's virtual location, based at least in part on at least one user input; and changing, following disassociation of the user's real location with the user's virtual location, the user's virtual location without a corresponding change in the user's real location.

    Abstract: An apparatus is provided that includes at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code with the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to analyze a level difference between a left channel and a right channel of a stereo audio signal and to determine if the level difference between the left channel and the right channel is above a threshold. The apparatus is also caused to conditionally, if the determined level difference is above the threshold, move signal energy from a louder one of the left channel and the right channel to the other of the left channel and the right channel to create a processed left channel and a processed right channel of a processed stereo audio signal. A corresponding method is also provided.

    Abstract: According to an example embodiment, a method for processing an input audio signal in accordance with spatial metadata so as to play back a spatial audio signal in a device in dependence of at least one sound reproduction characteristic of the device is provided, the method comprising: obtaining said input audio signal and said spatial metadata; obtaining said at least one sound reproduction characteristic of the device; rendering a first portion of the spatial audio signal using a first type playback procedure applied on the input audio signal in dependence of the spatial metadata, wherein the first portion comprises sound directions within a front region of the spatial audio signal; and rendering a second portion of the spatial audio signal using a second type playback procedure applied on the input audio signal in dependence of the spatial metadata and in dependence of said at least one sound reproduction characteristic, wherein the second portion comprises sound directions that are not included in the first portion and where the second type playback procedure is different from the first playback procedure and involves cross-talk cancellation processing.

    Abstract: An apparatus configured to: obtain parameter values for configuring a reverberator; receive a spatial audio signal comprising at least one audio signal and spatial metadata; obtain a room effect control indication; and in response to a determination that a room effect is to be applied to the spatial audio signal: generate a first part binaural audio signal based on the at least one audio signal and the spatial metadata; generate a second part binaural audio signal based on the at least one audio signal, wherein at least the second part binaural audio signal is generated with at least in part the room effect so as to have a different response than a response of the first part binaural audio signal, wherein the second part binaural audio signal is generated with the configured reverberator; and combine the first part binaural audio signal and the second part binaural audio signal.
