Abstract:
A product dispenser and carrier (10, 110, 210, 310, 410, 510) for attachment to a surface such as a dryer fin includes a plate member (11, 111, 211, 311, 411, 511) and a product carrier (21, 121, 221, 321, 421, 521). The plate member (11, 111, 211, 311, 411, 511) attaches to the surface and the product carrier (21, 121, 221, 321, 421, 521) releasably attaches to the plate member (11, 111, 211, 311, 411, 511). Product (31, 131, 431, 531) is operatively connected to the product carrier (21, 121, 221, 321, 421, 521).
Abstract:
Two electrical power components used in the course of operating an appliance are configured to operate at frequencies which are out-of-phase with respect to one another such that operating noises produced by the first component are effectively reduced in magnitude based on the operation of the second component. The components can be constituted by multiple pumps, a pump/motor combination, a motor and transformer or the like. Operational vibrations can also be reduced by mounting the components in a cabinet of the appliance through a common bracket.
Abstract:
A method and system provide an automated cleaning apparatus for cleaning various types of articles, wherein each type of article is detected and washed according to its own pre-determined combination. The cleaning apparatus has a storage device storing an array of pre-determined chemical combinations and cleaning parameters, including specifying cleaning chemicals to be used on the various identified article types. A transponder is provided with identifying information of the article type. A transceiver detects the type of article from the transponder and communicates that identifying information to a processor. Based on the detected identifier, the processor selects from the storage device the proper chemical combination and cleaning parameters for washing the identified type of article. A control device coupled to the processor delivers the chemicals specified by the selected chemical combination. Finally, a cleaning subsystem coupled to the processor cleans the articles using the delivered chemicals and other specified parameters.
Abstract:
A bulk dispenser includes a dispensing chamber having an open upper end. A storage chamber is fitted within the dispensing chamber and includes a dispensing opening spaced above the bottom of the dispensing chamber. A valve is within the dispensing opening and is movable from a closed position preventing fluid from leaving the storage chamber to an open position permitting fluid to flow through the dispensing opening into the dispensing chamber. A spring biases the valve to its closed position.
Abstract:
According to a method and apparatus for balancing a container using a closed system fluid balance ring for high rotational speed washing machines, the transfer of fluid is pulsed, allowing for a variable overall mass transfer rate while computation of the imbalance continues. Mass transfer continues until any significant imbalance is eliminated. The quasi-constant nature of this method allows for the resulting imbalance tolerances to be significantly lower. As the imbalance decreases, the mass transfer rate is varied accordingly.
Abstract:
The hard floor surface in common food preparation sites can have complex soils that are difficult to remove. Such floor can have two surface qualities. A first surface contains an array of quarry tile. The second surface contains a grid of grout lines surrounding the tile completing the surface. Each surface provides particular soil removal problems. We have found a unique product sequence, used in a method for cleaning hard surface or hard quarry tile floors, that is surprisingly effective in removing soil from both the floor tile surface and grout lines. The resulting clean floor surface maintains a clean quarry tile surface, a white new appearing grout line having no substantial build-up of soil residue. The floors obtain a clean, slip-free surface that is clean, sanitized, and has improved safety from slip and fall accidents.
Abstract:
An improved laundry appliance is provided having a security system to control access to the clothes in the appliance. The security system includes a lock on the appliance for locking the appliance door in the closed position, and a control panel to actuate and deactuate the lock. The control panel includes a money payment receiver, such as a coin slot or a credit and debit card reader. The control panel also includes a security system such as a key, key card, or PIN access code, to prevent unauthorized deactuation of the lock.
Abstract:
A drop-out conveyor for a pusher-type slab reheat furnace having a sloped dropout is disclosed. The drop-out conveyor comprises a plurality of reciprocating slab carts movable between a first loading position within the furnace and a second discharge position outside of the furnace. A track is provided for supporting each of the carts along the sloped dropout of the furnace between the loading position and the discharge position. A mechanism is provided for reciprocating each cart between the first position and the second position. The present invention additionally includes a device for removing the slabs from the slab cart to a roller table at the discharge position.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus of making coiled plate, sheet in coiled form or discrete plate. The apparatus is an intermediate thickness slab caster with a slab storage container and inline hot strip and plate line. The apparatus includes a continuous strip caster forming a strand of between 3.5 and 6 inches thick; a cutoff for cutting the strand into a slab of desired length; a slab table; a slab storage container adjacent to the slab conveyor table adapted to selectively receive slabs from the slab conveyor table; a reheat furnace having an entry inline with both the slab conveyor table and the slab collection and storage area for receiving slabs from either; a feed and run back table at the exit of the reheat furnace; a hot reversing mill for reducing the slab to a coiling thickness; a pair of coiler furnaces located on opposite sides of the hot reversing mill; and a finishing line downstream of the pair of coiler furnaces.
Abstract:
A sign support stake may be combined with a jack for extraction of the stake. The sign support stake may also provide a heater to melt frozen earth. The sign support can be provided with releasable attachment means to the support to avoid removal by vandals and may be provided with level indicating means to assist achieving vertical orientation for a driven stake.
