Abstract: Techniques for improving CSI (Channel State Information) in connection with FD (Full Dimension)-MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) are discussed. A first set of techniques can employ hierarchical cell common class B CSI-RS for improved beam selection. A second set of techniques can provide improved CSI feedback based on eigenvalue(s) and co-phase associated with a precoder. Abstract: Disclosed herein are apparatuses, systems, and methods using or implementing a control channel (PDCCH) design. The PDCCH can occupy an initial number of OFDM symbols of a downlink subframe, while occupying less than the full system bandwidth. The PDCCH can be time division multiplexed (TDM) with a shared channel (PDSCH) or frequency division multiplexed (FDM) with a PDSCH. The PDCCH can further be multiplexed with another PDCCH in a contiguous or non-contiguous region. Resources allocated to the PDCCH can overlap or partially overlap resources allocated to the PDSCH. An Evolved Node-B (eNB) can provide configuration information for the PDCCH design in Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling to a user equipment (UE), or through use of a Master Information Block (MIB) or System Information Block (SIB).

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable to report channel quality indication (CQI) information to a Next Generation NodeB (gNB) in a wideband coverage enhancement (WCE) for MulteFire system is disclosed. The UE can decode a coding rate scaling factor received from the gNB in the WCE for MulteFire system. The UE can measure a channel between the gNB and the UE. The UE can calculate a modulation and coding rate based on the channel measurement between the gNB and the UE. The UE can scale the modulation and coding rate using the coding rate scaling factor to form a scaled modulation and coding rate. The UE can select a CQI index that corresponds to the scaled modulation and coding rate. The UE can encode the CQI index for transmission to the gNB in a channel state information (CSI) report.

Abstract: Devices and methods of simultaneous data reception and measurement are generally described. A UE transmits to an eNB antenna capacity and receives a Beamformed Reference Signal (BRS) configuration in response. Beamformed signals from the eNB include a BRS subframe in accordance with the BRS configuration. The BRS subframe has a BRS whose structure depends on the UE antenna capacity. If the UE has a single antenna panels, neither an EPDCCH nor a PDSCH for the UE is in the BRS frame. If the UE has a single antenna panels and multiple ports or multiple antenna panels, the BRS may contain an EPDCCH or PDSCH for the UE as different ports or antenna panels may be assigned different functionality. The UE measures BRS Received Power (BRS-RP) of the BRS, transmits a BRS report based on the BRS-RP and selects an optimal beam based on BRS-RPs from BRSs of the beams.

Abstract: Devices and methods of providing symmetric UL and DL ACK/NACKs is generally described. UL ACK/NACKs of different UEs are multiplexed and received by a UE with a PUSCH. The receiving UE in response transmits the DL ACK/NACK. The ACK/NACK may be transmitted in a localized or distributed manner among subbands that may be adjacent or each may have blocks separated by blocks of a different subband. The ACK and NACK may use independent resources or the NACK may not be transmitted on the single ACK/NACK resource, the lack of an ACK serving as a NACK. The ACK/NACK may be transmitted using a beamforming weight shaped by the received PUSCH/PDSCH. The ACK/NACK symbol may be located in the first symbol, adjacent to the PUSCH/PDSCH, or at the end of a TTI. If adjacent, the UL grant or UL assignment may indicate whether the ACK/NACK resource is used by the PUSCH/PDSCH.

Abstract: Technology for a wideband coverage enhancement (WCE) user equipment (UE) and a next generation node B (gNB) operable for communication in a MulteFire cell is disclosed. The WCE UE can identify selected resource blocks containing an enhanced physical downlink control channel (ePDCCH), wherein the selected resource blocks are identified using a master information block (MIB). The WCE UE can decode an ePDCCH transmission from the gNB. The WCE UE can identify a system information block MulteFire (SIB-MF) scheduled via the ePDCCH to allow the SIB-MF to be decoded.

Abstract: Described is an apparatus of an Evolved Node-B (eNB) operable to communicate with a User Equipment (UE) on a wireless network. The apparatus may comprise a first circuitry, a second circuitry, and a third circuitry. The first circuitry may be operable to process one or more configuration transmissions from the eNB carrying one or more parameters for Grantless Uplink (GUL) transmission. The second circuitry may be operable to determine one or more GUL subframes of an acquired Maximum Channel Occupancy Time (MCOT) on time-domain resources allocated for GUL transmission from the UE. The third circuitry may be operable to generate a GUL transmission during the one or more GUL subframes of the acquired MCOT in accordance with the one or more parameters for GUL transmission.
