摘要: One or more wireless stations may operate to configure direct communication with neighboring mobile stations, e.g., direct communication between the wireless stations without utilizing an intermediate access point. A mechanism for a wireless station to transmit a paging beacon outside of a paging window may include establishing a paged data link with a peer station, determining that one or more data frames associated with the paged data link are pending transmission, and transmitting a beacon to the peer station outside of a scheduled paging window of the paged data link. The beacon may include a paging attribute indicating there are pending data frames.

摘要: An interface circuit in an electronic device (such as an access point) may receive a wake-up-radio (WUR)-setup request associated with a recipient electronic device, where the WUR-setup request specifies one or more proposed data criteria or wake-up criteria that indicate when a wake-up frame is to be transmitted to the recipient electronic device. In response, the electronic device may determine one or more data criteria (or wake-up criteria) for use based at least in part on the one or more proposed data criteria. Then, the interface circuit may provide a WUR-setup response intended for the recipient electronic device, where the WUR-setup response indicates acceptance of the one or more proposed data criteria for use as the one or more data criteria or a proposed modification of at least one of the one or more proposed data criteria.

摘要: In one set of embodiments, one or more client stations operate to configure Neighbor Awareness Networking (NAN)—direct communication with neighboring client stations, i.e., direct communication between the client stations without utilizing an intermediate access point. Embodiments of the disclosure relate to NAN datapath scheduling and NAN pre-datapath operation setup and scheduling. The NAN datapath embodiments described herein provide a mechanism through which devices can communicate and provide services. Aspects of the datapath development include datapath scheduling, including datapath setup and scheduling attributes, as well as pre-datapath operation triggering and scheduling. Scheduling may include determination of a type of datapath, including paging and synchronized datapaths. NAN data cluster base schedules may be scheduled as equal-sets or subsets of datapath schedules. The datapath model may be implemented for unicast and multicast communication between client stations.

The NAN datapath embodiments described herein provide a mechanism through which devices can communicate to establish a Wi-Fi connection via non-Wi-Fi signaling and provide services. Aspects of the datapath development include Wi-Fi connection establishment and datapath initiation. The datapath model may be implemented for unicast and/or multicast communication between wireless stations, including mobile stations.

摘要: The disclosed embodiments provide a system that provides wireless service groups. During operation, a wireless device's advertising mechanism advertises a service group over Wi-Fi, wherein the service group comprises at least the wireless device and wherein the service group's security requirements regulate multicast protection within the service group. In response to receiving a request from a second device to be admitted into the service group, the wireless device's security mechanism admits the second device into the service group and sends the service group's security requirements to the second device, thereby enabling the second device to initialize multicast protection in accordance with the service group's security requirements.

The wireless device may receive a response from a peer device and transmit further service information to the peer device in an availability window indicated in the response.

In addition, the wireless station may receive transmissions intended for at least one neighboring wireless station of the one or more neighboring wireless stations from the Wi-Fi access point and relay the transmissions to the at least one wireless station on behalf of the Wi-Fi access point.

摘要: Some embodiments include utilizing a multilink media access control (MAC) address structure to support multilink devices (MLDs) that can operate concurrently in more than one link such as extremely high throughput (EHT) access points (APs) and EHT stations (STA), where the multilink MAC address structure is compatible with legacy devices. An EHT AP can utilize a multilink basic service set (BSS) identification (BSSID) MAC address to communicate with an EHT STA identified by a multilink MAC address. Values of the multilink BSSID and the multilink MAC address of the EHT STA are independent of which of the multiple links are used in the communication. In addition, to utilizing a multilink BSSID, the EHT AP can also support unique link-specific MAC addresses to concurrently support legacy and MLD stations. The EHT STA can also utilize unique link-specific MAC addresses that can be different than the EHT AP's link-specific MAC addresses.

For example, some embodiments relate to a method including generating a first frame to be transmitted to a first electronic device. An association identifier (AID) value of the first frame is set to a first value to indicate that the first frame is an individually addressed frame addressed to the first electronic device. The method further includes generating a second frame to be transmitted to a group of one or more electronic devices. An AID value of the second frame is set to a second value different from the first value. The method also includes transmitting the first frame and the second frame.
