    Abstract: Embodiments of an Evolved Node-B (eNB), User Equipment (UE) and methods for directional communication are generally described herein. The eNB may transmit, during a downlink sub-frame, a first beam refinement training signal and an uplink scheduling block to a first UE according to a downlink transmission direction from the eNB to the first UE. The eNB 104 may further transmit, during the downlink sub-frame, a second beam refinement training signal and a downlink scheduling block to a second UE according to a downlink transmission direction from the eNB to the second UE. The uplink scheduling block may indicate scheduled uplink resources for a scheduled uplink transmission by the first UE and the downlink scheduling block may indicate scheduled downlink resources for a scheduled downlink transmission to the second UE.

    Abstract: Techniques discussed herein can facilitate handling of DL (Downlink) control and data channels having different numerologies in NR (New Radio). One example embodiment comprises an apparatus employable by a UE (User Equipment) configured to generate a report comprising capability information associated with the UE, wherein the capability information indicates whether the UE supports multiplexing of multiple numerologies within a common symbol in a FDM (Frequency Division Multiplexing)-based manner; process first higher layer signaling that configures one or more control resource sets of a NR (New Radio) PDCCH (Physical Downlink Control Channel), wherein the one or more control resource sets are associated with one or more numerologies in accordance with the UE capability information; and demodulate a NR PDSCH (Physical Downlink Shared Channel) from a resource distinct from resources of the NR PDCCH.

In some embodiments, processing circuitry may determine a quality of service (QoS) level for data to be transmitted over a first radio access technology (RAT) connection and determine a QoS indicator from the QoS level, the QoS indicator identifying a dual connectivity backup transmission, the dual connectivity backup transmission including a hot, warm, or cold backup. In some embodiments, transceiver circuitry may attempt to transmit the data using a first transmission mode, the first transmission mode using the first RAT connection and the data including the QoS indicator and retransmit, in response to the attempt failing, the data using a second transmission mode.

    Abstract: An apparatus of an Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) node includes processing circuitry coupled to a memory. To configure the IAB node for resource allocation within an IAB network, the processing circuitry is to decode radio resource control (RRC) signaling from a central unit (CU) function of an IAB donor node. The RRC signaling configures first time-domain resources for a parent backhaul link between a mobile termination (M) function of the IAB node and a distributed unit (DU) function of a parent IAB node, and second time-domain resources for a child backhaul link between a DU function of the IAB node and a MT function of a child IAB node. Uplink data is encoded for transmission to the parent IAB node based on the first time-domain resources. Downlink data is encoded for transmission to the child IAB node based on the second time-domain resources.

    Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for use in a wireless network for random access channel (RACH) resource coordination. Some embodiments are directed to an apparatus in an Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) network. The apparatus includes processor circuitry and radio front circuitry. The radio front end circuitry can be configured to receive random access channel (RACH) resource configuration for communicating with a parent node and a child node. The processor circuitry can be configured to determine, based on the RACH resource configuration, a first RACH resource for communicating, in a half-duplex mode, with the parent node. The processor circuitry can be further configured to determine, based on the RACH resource configuration, a second RACH resource for communicating, in the half-duplex mode, with the child node, where the second RACH resource is orthogonal to the first RACH resource.
