Abstract: Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems and methods for classifying and evaluating an electronic object based at least in part on terahertz (THz) data. THz data may comprise time-domain THz data collected via THz time domain spectroscopy of the electronic object. THz data may further comprise frequency-domain THz data, which may be generated based at least in part on the time-domain THz data. A unique THz fingerprint may be generated for the electronic object based at least in part on the THz data. This unique THz fingerprint may be compared to an earlier generated THz fingerprint of the same electronic object to evaluate reliability and consistency. The unique THz fingerprint may also be compared to THz fingerprints or THz data of other electronic objects of the same object type, class, design, and/or the like, to validate the electronic object (e.g., determine if the electronic object is counterfeit).

Abstract: Methods for producing a custom-made stapes prosthesis for a patient and stapes prostheses so produced. The methods may include obtaining a three-dimensional image of a natural stapes bone of the patient; and forming a stapes prosthesis that closely approximates a three-dimensional shape of the natural stapes bone via an additive manufacturing technique based on the three-dimensional image. The stapes prosthesis comprises a suitable material that is not osteogenic and is not cytotoxic. The stapes prosthesis may include a plurality of pores having an average size of from about 5 to about 100 micrometers and may exhibit a frequency of sound transmission in a range of from about 2 to about 30 kilohertz.

Abstract: A method is provided for detecting a composition of airborne particles. The method includes directing, with a pump, gas including particulate matter through a filter including an indicator dye. The method further includes causing a color change in the filter based on the particulate matter binding to the indicator dye. The method further includes transmitting, with an optical source, an optical signal at the filter. The method further includes detecting, with an imaging device, a reflected signal from the filter. The method further includes determining, with a processor, a value of a parameter of the particulate matter based on the color change, wherein the color change is based on the detected reflected signal.
