Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for partitioning of time-frequency resources for types of traffic separately. A centralized scheduler in a centralized system or a set of access nodes (ANs) in a distributed system may allocate a portion of a set of resources for a first traffic type (e.g., control or data traffic). In some cases, multiple ANs may exchange reports or measurements to determine the resources to allocate to a given traffic type. The allocated resources may be repurposed for use by a different traffic type (e.g., data traffic resources may be repurposed an used for control traffic resources) in order to account for varying traffic conditions (e.g., unscheduled control traffic).

Abstract: According to an aspect of the disclosure, a base station may convey the parameter information to the UE based on selection of particular resources to be used for transmission of synchronization signals, where the selected resources correspond to the particular parameter information. The UE may blindly detect the synchronization signals on various candidate resources and determine the parameter information based on the resources where the synchronization signals are detected. The apparatus may be a base station. In an aspect, the base station determines parameter information of one or more parameters. The base station selects, based on the parameter information, synchronization resources from a plurality of candidate resources for transmission of one or more synchronization signals, where the selected synchronization resources correspond to the parameter information. The base station transmits the one or more synchronization signals using the selected synchronization resources.

Abstract: In wireless communication systems that support 5G or NR protocols, subframes used for communication may have different numerology options. Numerology options may refer to the characteristics of the subframe such as a tone spacing within each symbol of the subframe, a symbol duration for each symbol of the subframe, a number of symbols in the subframe, etc. A subframe may include a control channel (e.g., the PDCCH) and a data channel (e.g., the PDSCH). In an aspect, the control channel and the data channel within the subframe may have different numerologies. As such, a need exists to signal the numerology of the subframe to users and to determine whether and how to multiplex the control channel and the data channel into the subframe.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for assisted power control for an uplink signal transmitted during a RACH procedure. A UE may determine a transmit power for transmitting a message during a RACH procedure with a secondary BS, based at least in part, on communication between the UE and a primary BS. The UE may transmit the message to the second BS during the RACH procedure based, at least in part, on the determined transmit power.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device may identify a set of power configurations for a plurality of communications with at least one target device. The set of power configurations may be based at least in part on a type of signal, a type of channel, a parameter of the wireless device, a parameter of the target device, or a combination thereof. The wireless device may then determine a duplexing mode for the plurality of communications based at least in part on the set of power configurations. The duplexing mode may be, for example, a full duplex mode or a half-duplex mode. The wireless device may then transmit the plurality of communications to and/or receive the plurality of communications from the at least one target device according to the set of power configurations and the selected duplexing mode.

One method includes performing a first beam sweep procedure to determine a first beam pair that includes a transmit beam of a first wireless node and a receive beam of a second wireless node, identifying a level of correspondence at one or both of the first wireless node and the second wireless node, the level of correspondence being between a transmit beam and a receive beam of a respective wireless node and determining, based on the level of correspondence, a range of a second beam sweep procedure to be performed in determining a second beam pair that includes a transmit beam of the second wireless node and a receive beam of the first wireless node.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) being served by a first cell may receive a synchronization signal (SS) block from the first cell. The UE may also receive an SS block from a second cell. The first cell may determine synchronization assistance information for the second cell and transmit the synchronization assistance information to the UE. The UE may use the synchronization assistance information to determine the index for the SS block from the second cell. For example, the synchronization assistance information may indicate that the UE is to use the index of the SS block from the first cell as the index for the SS block from the second cell. Once the index for the SS block from the second cell is determined, the UE may identify the subframe or slot timing used by the second cell and proceed with cell acquisition.

Reference signals may be transmitted using tones within the broadcast channel time resources, and may be transmitted at a higher density for portions of the broadcast channel transmission bandwidth that are outside of the SS transmission bandwidth.
