Abstract: Described are targets for use in optical tracking, as well as related methods. In some implementations, a target comprises a planar surface with an optically detectable pattern thereon, and at least one protrusion extending from the planar surface. In other implementations, a target comprises a planar surface with an optically detectable pattern thereon, with a specular reflective region. The optically detectable pattern provides accurate position information of the target, and provides accurate orientation information of the target about a first axis, but may not provide accurate orientation information of the target about other axes. The at least one protrusion or the specular reflective region provide accurate information of orientation of the target, particularly orientations about axes other than the first axis.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system and method for the automatic detection of persons engaged in the open carry of firearms at a venue. The system and method comprise strategically placed cameras at the venue which are connected to edge devices which extract frames from video generated by the cameras. The video frames are sent to a server for analysis by an AI/ML model trained to detect firearms and, specifically, to detect persons carrying firearms. If a person wielding a firearm is detected in any image, an alert is raised and local authorities are automatically contacted. The system is designed to run continuously such as to be able to quickly detect a person in a venue carrying a firearm.

Abstract: An object detection system that can achieve both low delay and object detection accuracy is provided. A first detection unit identifies labels of objects reflected in a input frame and locations of bounding boxes of the objects. A history information generation unit assigns the same ID to the bounding boxes that share the same object, and generates history information that is information indicating a history of combination of a frame number and a location of a bounding box for each ID. A prediction unit predicts regions of the bounding boxes in latest frame, based on the history information, according to a delay that is a time required for the first detection unit to identify the labels and the locations of the bounding boxes in the input frame.

Abstract: There is provided a position detection device that recognizes a presence position of a target object in a three-dimensional space. The device acquires three-dimensional point cloud information of the space and a plurality of images obtained by imaging an area including surroundings of an object in the space from different imaging points. A region detection unit receives, as an input, the plurality of acquired images, determines whether a target object appears in the plurality of images, and detects a region of the object in each of the plurality of images in a case where the target object appears in each of the images. A specifying unit specifies a region of a point cloud corresponding to the target object based on the point cloud information and the region of the object detected in each of the images. A position detection unit specifies a position of the target object in the space by recognizing points corresponding to the target object from the point cloud information of the region specified by the specifying unit.

Abstract: A communication assist service may extract one or more video frames during a communication session between a user device and a terminal device. The video frames may include a representation of an object associated with an issue for which the communication session was established. The communication assist service may generate a feature vector from the video frames and execute a trained neural network configured to generate predictions associated with a resolution to the issue. The neural network may output predicted actions that if executed may resolve the issue or provide additional information that will improve a likelihood of resolving the issue. The communication assist service may then transmit the predicted actions to the terminal device in real time.

Abstract: A device, system, and method to provide front-facing camera images identified using a scene image assembled from rear-facing camera images is provided. A device retrieves dual-sensor camera images having respective metadata indicating image acquisitions substantially matching a time and a place associated with an incident, the dual-sensor camera images including a front and rear-facing camera image acquired via a same respective dual-sensor camera. The device assembles the rear-facing camera images into a scene image and renders the scene image at a display screen. The device receives an indication of a region-of-interest within the scene image and responsively: identifies a set of rear-facing camera images acquired within a predetermined threshold distance of the region-of-interest as determined using the respective metadata; and renders, at the display screen, front-facing camera images, from the dual-sensor camera images, associated with the set of rear-facing camera images acquired within the predetermined threshold distance of the region-of-interest.
