Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for controlling smart devices are described. In one aspect a method includes capturing, by a camera on a user device, a plurality of successive images for display in an application environment of an application executing on the user device, performing an object recognition process on the images, the object recognition process including determining that a plurality of images, each depicting a particular object, are required to perform object recognition on the particular object, and in response to the determination, generating a user interface element that indicates a camera operation to be performed, the camera option capturing two or more images, determining that a user, in response to the user interface element, has caused the indicated camera operation to be performed to capture the two or more images, and in response, determining whether a particular object is positively identified from the plurality of images.

A remote media system is located at the location of the activity. A network media processor and services is communicatively coupled with the remote media system. The remote media system includes one or more AI enabled cameras. The AI enabled camera is configured to record the activity. The network media processor is configured to receive an activation request of the AI enabled camera and the validate the record request. The system may automatically administer a skill-based competition.

Abstract: In various examples, color statistic(s) from ground projections are used to harmonize color between reference and target frames representing an environment. The reference and target frames may be projected onto a representation of the ground (e.g., a ground plane) of the environment, an overlapping region between the projections may be identified, and the portion of each projection that lands in the overlapping region may be taken as a corresponding ground projection. Color statistics (e.g., mean, variance, standard deviation, kurtosis, skew, correlation(s) between color channels) may be computed from the ground projections (or a portion thereof, such as a majority cluster) and used to modify the colors of the target frame to have updated color statistics that match those from the ground projection of the reference frame, thereby harmonizing color across the reference and target frames.

Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein describe a divided-aperture infrared spectral imaging (DAISI) system that is adapted to acquire multiple IR images of a scene with a single-shot (also referred to as a snapshot). The plurality of acquired images having different wavelength compositions that are obtained generally simultaneously. The system includes at least two optical channels that are spatially and spectrally different from one another. Each of the at least two optical channels are configured to transfer IR radiation incident on the optical system towards an optical FPA unit comprising at least two detector arrays. One of the at least two detector arrays comprises a cooled mid-wavelength infra-red FPA. The system further comprises at least one temperature reference source or surface that is used to dynamically calibrate the two detector arrays and compensate for a temperature difference between the two detector arrays.

Abstract: Examples are described for applying different settings for image capture to different portions of image data. For example, an image sensor can capture image data of a scene and can send the image data to an image signal processor (ISP) and a classification engine for processing. The classification engine can determine that a first object image region depicts a first category of object, and a second object image region depicts a second category of object. Different confidence regions of the image data can identify different degrees of confidence in the classifications. The ISP can generate an image by applying a different settings to the different portions of the image data. The different portions of the image data can be identified based on the object image regions and confidence regions.
