Abstract: A method of reducing corrosion in tubular strings installed in wellbores includes dispensing an accelerated cement composition into a wellbore annulus, a casing-casing annulus, or both, the accelerated cement composition comprising a cement composition and an accelerant composition, where: the cement composition comprises a cement precursor and water; the accelerant composition comprises triethanolamine; and a concentration of the triethanolamine in the accelerated cement composition is greater than or equal to 10,000 parts per million by weight; allowing the accelerated cement composition to cure in the annulus to form a cured cement, where the triethanolamine reacts with a metal of the tubular string, the reaction forming a protective layer on the surfaces of the tubular string that inhibits dissolution of iron from the metal of the tubular string.

Abstract: A method of providing a cemented open hole intelligent completion in a well containing an open hole having a perimeter in which plurality of laterals are embedded. The method comprises deploying a first string section in a portion of the open hole containing the plurality of laterals, the first section having intelligent completion components including control valves, gauges and control lines operable from a surface station, deploying a second string section coupled to and positioned above the first string section and above the plurality of laterals including a setting packer, and delivering cement downhole that sets in a cemented section comprising an annulus between the second string and the perimeter of the open hole. The cemented section is positioned above the plurality of laterals so as to block fluids from production while not interfering with communication between the surface and the intelligent components of the first string.

Abstract: A wellbore is plugged using a bismuth alloy. In one embodiment, the bismuth alloy comprises an alloy of bismuth and tin. In another embodiment, the bismuth alloy comprises an alloy of bismuth and silver. The wellbore can be arranged so that a liquid bismuth alloy sets with an excess pressure of the plug relative to the borehole fluid pressure along a desired seal height distance. Abstract: A system includes a sleeved valve disposed within a casing string. The sleeved valve has a first cement port configured to open and close to an annulus and a first opening. The first opening and the first cement port are hydraulically connected within the sleeved valve. The system further includes a tool made of a tubular body having an outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter of the casing string. The tool includes a tool orifice and a cement injection needle in hydraulic communication with the tool orifice. The cement injection needle fits inside the first opening and, upon entering the first opening, a first hydraulic connection is created between the tool orifice and the first cement port.

Abstract: A flow assembly is deployed downhole in a casing for a cementing operation. The flow assembly has a spool with an optical cable. As cement is pumped downhole and through the flow assembly, a dart attached to the optical cable on the spool is dragged with the flow of cement. Cement flow is stopped based on signals along the optical cable that the dart is at a desired location downhole.
