摘要: Sorbent compositions, comprising a solid sorbent, a dispersive agent, and optionally a capture agent for enhanced wet-Flue Gas Desulfurization (wFGD) or wet scrubber unit function in a flue gas pollutant control stream is disclosed. The sorbent composition may include a sorbent with a dispersive agent, designed to enhance the dispersion of the sorbent in an aqueous sorption liquid of a wet scrubber unit, and therefore may be especially useful in EGU or industrial boiler flue gas streams that include one or more wet scrubber units. The sorbent composition may also include a capture agent useful in sequestering mercury and bromine, as well as other contaminants that may include arsenic, selenium and nitrates.

摘要: An emissions clean-up process is provided to remove detrimental exhaust gases from a fossil fuel power plant and to produce and/or reclaim various useful commercial byproducts. The process includes mixing a blended liquid solution with a solubilizer in a mixing tank to create a chemical reaction therein to produce an ionic solid and an alkaline liquid solution. By mixing various blended solutions with desired solubilizers, alkaline liquids are produced which may be chemically combined to create other byproducts or sold commercially. Likewise, the alkaline liquids may be passed through a wet scrubber to create a byproduct that when chemically mixed with an acid creates desired byproducts. Other byproducts such as a sodium bicarbonate liquid solution exits the wet scrubber and is sold or used in the subject process to produce various other byproducts.

摘要: Process and apparatus (10) are disclosed for capturing and converting an ozone-depleting alkyl halide fumigant from a fumigant/air mixed stream (14) by absorbing it into a metal hydroxide-alcohol buffer solution (26) in an absorber/scrubber (12) to produce a fumigant-free air stream (28). The captured alkyl halide in aqueous alcohol solution can actively react with the metal hydroxide in alcohol solution to produce a value-added product, such as a precipitate metal halide, and another alcohol that further enhances absorption. The absorbing solution is well-mixed with make-up alcohol and alkali streams to maintain the concentration of the metal hydroxide in the desired buffer solution range. The solid precipitate metal halide (52) is separated from the liquid stream, and the metal hydroxide-containing mixed alcohol stream (26) is recycled to the absorber/scrubber (12).

摘要: Methods and systems for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, including producing a waste gas stream comprising form greater than 0 vol % to less than 20 vol %, inclusive, carbon dioxide, pre-concentrating the waste gas stream to increase a concentration of carbon dioxide, producing a concentrated byproduct stream comprising more than 40 vol %, dissolving carbon dioxide contained in the concentrated byproduct stream in water, producing a dissolved byproduct stream and an undissolved byproduct stream, injecting the dissolved byproduct stream or a portion thereof into a reservoir containing mafic rock, and allowing components of the dissolved byproduct stream to react in situ with components of the mafic rock to precipitate and store components of the byproduct stream in the reservoir.

摘要: The present disclosure provides systems and methods useful in capture of one more moieties (e.g., carbon dioxide) from a gas stream (i.e., direct air capture). In various embodiments, the systems and methods can utilize at least a scrubbing unit, a regeneration unit, and an electrolysis unit whereby an alkali solution can be used to strip the moiety (e.g., carbon dioxide) from the gas stream, the removed moiety can be regenerated and optionally purified for capture or other use, and a formed salt can be subjected to electrolysis to recycle the alkali solution back to the scrubber for re-use with simultaneous production of one or more further chemicals.

摘要: A mass transfer column is provided in which a shell is formed of one or more side walls having an exoskeleton. The exoskeleton includes a plurality of vertical trusses joined together by crossing rails. An inner skin is supported by the vertical trusses and rails and, together with a top and bottom of the shell, defines an open internal region that may be pressurized and in which mass transfer process may occur. Horizontally extending beams that may be in the form of trusses span the open internal reaion and are supported by the exoskeleton. Internals such as structured packing may be supported on the horizontally extending beams.
