摘要： A mechanism to exclude critical speeds from normal operating ranges is provided having at least one drive unit to drive at least one unit of a processing machine. The at least one unit of a processing machine has a known torsional stiffness. A single power transmission is provided linking said at least one drive unit to said at least one unit of a processing machine. Said power transmission includes an adjustment member coupling to tune all torsional critical speeds out of the range of normal operating speeds of the processing machine. A single power transmission unit can therefore be used for an entire family of processing machines, wherein each processing machine may have a different stiffness.

摘要： Modules, such a paper tray 21, are stacked under a printer (3). Power to drive the paper feed originates from the printer. A housing (9, 27) carries a shaft (17, 35) which is keyed to turn with the housing. The shafts have abutment surfaces (47a) which mesh with abutment surfaces on the housing (29a, 29b). A thrust bearing (51) supporting the housing has a configured bottom to permit limited adjustment by rotation of the housing around the gear (35) at the opposite end of the housing. The top of the modules under the printer extend past their general frame and have a conical guide surface (23) to direct an entering shaft. The bottom of the modules has an opening (19e) to receive the extended part from a module on which it is stacked.

摘要： A cylinder in a rotary printing press is coupled to a driving wheel or gear by the engagement of two coupling disks. One of the disks is shiftable into coupling engagement with the other disk by application of a pressure medium to a work cylinder. A control valve is carried by the shiftable disk and limits the force of the pressure medium by use of a bleed passage that is closed only when coupling has been accomplished. The force of the pressure medium is at a higher level when coupling has been fully completed.

摘要： An oscillating roller system for a beverage can decorator is driven back and forth by a cam follower. A cam body having a cam is mounted to a frame of the inker system. Three oscillating cam roller assemblies are positioned about the cam body. Rotation of the cam oscillates the cam followers for each one of the oscillating rollers. Bearings of the oscillating roller assemblies includes an inlet gallery and outlet gallery for a closed loop lubrication system. The rollers are water cooled.

摘要： A print registration system for a beverage can decorator includes an axial registration system and a circumferential registration system. Each registration system is independent and includes a slider that is translated by a motorized lead screw. Axial movement of the axial registration slider is transmitted to axial adjustment of the plate cylinder by a mechanical connection between the axial registration slider and the plate cylinder shaft. Translation of the circumferential registration slider is transmitted to a helical gear mounted to the plate cylinder shaft such that the plate cylinder shaft is rotated by the movement of the circumferential registration slider upon engagement of the helical driven gear with a stationary drive gear.
