摘要： A wildfire protection system has at least one rotating sprinkler having a base mounted atop a ridge of a structure or dwelling roof. The rotating sprinkler is coupled to one end of a typical garden hose having an opposite end coupled to a hose bib for providing water thereto. The base of the rotating sprinkler includes a metallic or fire proof material and includes mounting holes for fastening the sprinkler to the roof. When deployed, the sprinkler wets the rooftop and nearby flammable materials to prevent the structure or dwelling from being set on fire by flying embers and the like.

摘要： A stowable device for ejecting fluids onto the underside and wheel regions of a vehicle includes a base member joined at one end to a handle member such that the angle between the members can be controllably varied and retained at a desired angle. A source of fluid is coupled through flexible tubing terminating in a fluid jet disposed adjacent the base member distal end. The desired angle is determined by a length of cord extending from base to handle member. The exposed cord length is user-controllable by lockably spooling excess cord length into a rotatable spool reservoir attached to the handle member. User-adjustment of the desired angle also determined handle height above ground. Alternatively, the desired angle (and handle height above ground) is user-determined by adjusting effective length of a rigid rod.

摘要： An apparatus for connecting a waterway, having a nozzle, to various sections of an aerial ladder. The connecting apparatus comprises an off-set cam within a cylindrical sleeve. One end of a connecting link is attached to the cylindrical sleeve. The other end fits within the clevises attached to the different sections of the ladder and has an aperture for receiving a clevis pin which is passed through the clevis and connecting link to attach the waterway to the selected ladder section. To firmly lock the waterway to the ladder section, a rotatable shaft, supported by bearings and having one end attached to the off-set axis of the cam, is rotated by means of a handle located on the exterior of the bracket. The rotation of the shaft and cam urge the waterway bracket against a step on the selected ladder section and thus securely lock the waterway in place.

摘要： A double-nozzle deluge gun has a pair of nozzles arranged side by side rotatably on a rotatable table and an inter-nozzle control unit for adjusting the inter-nozzle angle measured between two lines obtained by projecting the radiation center lines of the nozzles onto a horizontal plane. Each nozzle has a deflector which is positioned in front of the nozzle during the very short range mode. Each deflector has a side cover which prevents water having passed through the deflector from excessively spreading sideways. The inter-nozzle angle and the water pressure are adjusted in accordance with desired water-reaching ranges, so as to achieve an optimal watering pattern in any range. Thus, the double-nozzle deluge gun can be controlled in accordance with desired water-reaching ranges, so as to achieve an optimal watering pattern having an appropriate width in any range.

摘要： A water jet discharge pipe which produces a wide effective spray area and long water reach at low pressure and water volume. Compressed air is injected around the periphery of the pressurized water stream produced through an inner cylindrical member and which is throttled by a nozzle extending into such inner cylindrical member. The injected air prevents reduction of the flow velocity of the water by contact with the inner wall of the cylindrical member. In addition, external air is introduced through air inlets in an outer cylindrical member extending from the inner cylindrical member so as to straighten the air layer accompanying the water jet exiting from the inner cylindrical member and suppress premature dispersal of the water stream prior to ejection from the outer cylindrical member. After such ejection, expansion of the injected air atomizes the water stream to provide large area coverage thereof.

摘要： A fluid flow device is disclosed wherein fluid flows from an outer conduit to an inner co-axial conduit through a communicating chamber at one end of the conduits. To prevent turbulence in the fluid flow due to the change of axial direction, vanes are provided, some of which extend into the communicating chamber. Some of the vanes may extend continuously from the outer conduit through the communicating chamber to the inner conduit. A flow straightener may also be provided downstream of the vanes in the inner conduit.

摘要： A fire monitor formed by an outer tube that communicates with a water inlet and a coaxial inner tube connected to an outlet nozzle. Water flows from the inlet into the outer tube, and then around a semitoroidal bend formed by a baffle plate and a fairing into the inner tube for discharge through the outlet nozzle. The fairing is provided on the inner surface of the inner tube and the baffle plate has a curved periphery with an inner, continuous flat surface. The semi-toroidal bend minimizes turbulence in the water flow. Swivels are provided to permit horizontal and vertical adjustment of the direction of discharged water.
