Abstract:
A moisture repellant tread is provided for a positive displacement of moisture to secure the traction in the bottom of a shoe. The tread comprises a base plate and multiple short bundles of absorbent fibers. The base plate has a top surface locally bonded to the outsole with a lateral clearance between the base plate and outsole about the bonded areas, a bottom surface for contacting a floor and multiple closely arranged recesses open to the bottom surface and communicating through smaller openings formed at the top surfaces concentrically of the recesses. The fiber bundles are partially implanted in the recesses for displacing water absorbed from the floor upon contact through the openings at the top surfaces to the lateral clearance whereby the tread secures an increased traction as a wearer steps on the tread through the shoe even on a film of moisture.
Abstract:
An article of footwear for water sports disclosed. The article includes straps that fasten an upper into place. The straps are configured to maintain a fastened position when water is splashed from below the article. The article further includes padded members to protect the instep and the front ankle of the foot.
Abstract:
The invention refers to an element (2) in the form of a stud (1) incorporating anti-slipping and shock-absorbing means, which is foreseen as generally cylindrical hollow body with a predetermined wall thickness, selected to be compressed under the weight of the user, and with an outer part (3) with an upper base (4) separated from the sole (1), with a plurality of protuberances (7) of a small height and a depression or cavity (8) with the same configuration as the upper base, but slightly off-centred with respect to such upper base and with a lower portion (6) in the form of a cavity, where a plurality of pins (10), essentially in the form of a finger are evenly distributed. A surrounding notch (9) is arranged around the lower base (5) of the outer portion (3). The upper base (4) comprises at least a groove (11) to evacuate water, extending from the cavity (8) towards the outer edge.
Abstract:
An article of footwear includes a sole having a different performing lateral and medial regions. Ground engaging members, such as cleats, provide traction and one of the regions, preferably the lateral region, includes a stability member extending from the sole and spanning between a pair of adjacent ground engaging members in a heel to toe direction. The ground engaging members may have a body and a tip portion. Each tip portion may be integrally formed with all or a portion of its respective body. The medial and lateral regions include buttressing member having different characteristics and dimensions for strengthening the ground engaging members with providing enhanced flexibility.
Abstract:
A waterproof and breathable sole for shoes, having a structure including a supporting layer which, at least in a preset macroportion, is made of net, felt or other diffusely perforated material. A membrane made of a material that is impermeable to water and permeable to water vapor is associated above the supporting layer at least in the at least one preset macroportion made of net, felt or other diffusely perforated material, which it covers. A tread made of plastic material, with at least one through macroperforation at the at least one preset macroportion made of net, felt or other diffusely perforated material, is joined hermetically to the membrane and to the supporting layer at least at the perimeter of the at least one macroportion made of net, felt or other diffusely perforated material.
Abstract:
A shoe traction system may have an attachment element to allow the orientation of a traction device, such as a golf spike or cleat, to change relative to a sole. The system may further include a positioning element made from a resilient material and returns the spike to a neutral position. The density of the resilient material may be selected according to a weight of a user of the shoe traction system. In operation, the shoe traction system may allow each spike secured to the outsole to form a dynamic positioning system for uneven or varying ground surfaces. The spikes may work independently of each other and all spikes may be adjusting at all times to any change in surfaces.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide footwear that may be easily adapted for increased traction and/or recreation. Embodiments may include a chamber having a flexible wall, and retractable members coupled to the flexible wall such that when fluid is inserted into the chamber, the retractable members are extended from the bottom of a shoe and when fluid is removed from the chamber the retractable members are retracted into the bottom of a shoe.
Abstract:
An article of footwear, such as a cleated shoe, includes a sole portion with cleats which taper transversely, protruding less at the sole edges and more towards the middle of the sole. The footwear may take the form of a substantially flat sole to which the cleats are anchored and a shock-absorbing outsole portion that the cleats protrude through. The footwear also includes mini cleats arranged along the sole, and the sole includes plural thickness demarcators. The footwear also includes integral ankle protectors, a hinged cuff, and an inner boot.
Abstract:
A convertible shoe having a shoe body and a shoe sole. An air channel formed in said shoe sole including pressurized air inlet and air exhaust. An elongated pocket or multiple individual pockets in the bottom of the shoe sole and along said air channel. A flexible wall portion between said air channel and pocket that expands into the pocket(s) upon pressurization of said air channel. A protrusion affixed to said flexible wall portion and which extends out of said pocket and into engagement with a support surface when said air channel is pressurized.
Abstract:
A traction element for a shoe is provided. The traction element including: a base element; at least one spike associated with the base element; and a securing element for securing the base element to the shoe; wherein the at least one spike is configured for one of football, baseball, soccer and golf.
