摘要: A dual coil induction cooking system and method for heating ferrous and non-ferrous cooking vessels. The system includes a first resonant circuit for inducing a current in a ferrous metal cooking vessel at a first frequency and a second resonant circuit, wired in a parallel combination with the first resonant circuit, for inducing a current in a non-ferrous metal cooking vessel at a second frequency. The system also includes a power source for powering the parallel combination, so that one of the first and the second resonant circuits is coupled to supply power through the parallel combination to a respective one of the cooking vessels. A method for coupling power to a load includes sweeping a parallel combination of resonant circuits with a variable frequency power, detecting a resonant frequency response corresponding to a metallic composition of the load, and simultaneously powering the parallel combination of resonant circuits at a frequency corresponding to the detected resonant frequency.

摘要: We form welded reinforced composites by heating a susceptor along the bond line with a time-varying magnetic field produced with a moving induction coil. To obtain more uniform heating across the susceptor when welding composite parts using induction heating, edge regions of lower absolute impedance or a lower longitudinal impedance than the transverse impedance counterbalance the higher current density and current that occurs near the edges. The susceptor has lower impedance at the edges by altering the aspect ratio (length/width) of openings in the susceptor, by folding the susceptor over onto itself, or both. Uniform heating is important to obtaining a uniform, consistent weld on which aerospace designers can rely.

摘要: This relates to the heating of thick slabs for rolling and like purposes wherein there is a complete penetration of the slab by induced electrical energy wherein the starting current frequency is very low and wherein a maximum heating is obtained by increasing the current frequency to control through penetration of the induced current in the slab as the temperature of the slab rises and thus the restivity of the metal of the slab increases. Several heating systems are envisioned. These include a heating system of a length corresponding to the length of the slab and wherein the slab is stationary during the heating to the desired temperature, after which the slab is moved out of the heating apparatus. The second arrangement is similar to the first, but wherein a lower coil arrangement moves relative to the upper coil arrangement so as to remove and expose a heated slab. In these two systems, the frequency is progressively increased. In a third system, the heating system is relatively short and the slab being heated is moved therethrough. In this arrangement, there are a plurality of coil sets each having a current supply of a different and gradually increasing frequency.

摘要: A low-frequency electromagnetic induction heater includes a plurality of leg iron cores, a corresponding yoke iron core arranged on the leg iron cores, an induction coil wound around each leg iron core, and an iron plate or metal vessel for producing Joule heat with which the leg iron cores or induction coils are substantially in direct contact. The spaces between the yoke iron core, the leg iron cores and the induction coils are solidly filled with a resinous substrate which has been molded using molten resin. The induction heater produces less noise than other such heaters while providing a higher level of electromagnetic flux density.

摘要: An induction-heating apparatus includes at least two heating coils configured to heat an object to be heated by induction heating, at least two inverter devices connected to the at least two heating coils, respectively, and configured to supply power to the at least two heating coils, respectively, and a controller configured to control the at least two inverter devices. The controller compares driving frequencies, which are frequencies of the power supplied to the at least two heating coils, with each other, and change a driving frequency of a high-frequency coil having a higher driving frequency to a driving frequency of a low-frequency coil having a lower driving frequency. The controller controls an inverter device corresponding to the low-frequency coil in a first control state, and control an inverter device corresponding to the high-frequency coil in a second control state, which is different from the first control state.
