摘要： Disclosed is a local area information-providing system and method using real names. When an access word provided by an accessing client via a network is a real name, a local area information database is searched using the real name and the client's position information, and various kinds of information on the real name placed within an area corresponding to the client's position information are found and provided to the client. Together with this, an Internet address corresponding to the real name is provided to the client, and accordingly, the client accesses the web page corresponding to the input real name. Hence, the user can access desired web pages using not conventional English domain names but real names, and concurrently receive various kinds of local area information corresponding to the real name. Especially, the user can receive various kinds of local area information of the real names corresponding to predetermined positions without additional position assignment.

摘要： Systems, methods and media for providing communication profiles for an integrated database messaging system are disclosed. Embodiments of the method may include receiving from a user of the database messaging system a request for one or more profiles and determining one or more profiles associated based on the attributes of each profile request by accessing a profile database. The one or more profiles may include an indication of a user of the database messaging system and an Internet Protocol (IP) address. Embodiments may also include providing the one or more determined profiles to the requesting user. Further embodiments may include receiving an indication of one or more changes to the profile database and modifying the profile database. The user may include a database administrator (DBA) or user of a database. Each profile may contain personal, organizational, contact, group or other types of information.

摘要： A system and method for providing call management services in a Virtual Private Network of the present invention uses the advantages of end-to-end Internet Protocol signaling. The system and method of the present invention includes a user profile which offers both a customer address and a user name as search keys. The method includes locating the called party who may be at a multiplicity of possible physical locations, evaluating the calling and called party privileges, routing preferences and busy/idle status for establishing permission to set up the call, determining an optimum route to establish the telephone call. Due to the system and method of the present invention, the telephone call takes the optimum route and preferably the most direct route to the destination with a high probability of completion.

The system and method can include a system that pings multiple communication devices associated with a targeted party prior to sending a communication. The system can transmit a target device identifier with a status request (a ping) over a communication network. A response to the ping can provide presence information related to the targeted party. In addition, the system can ping a second target communication device by transmitting a second device identifier over the communication network. In response to a reply from the second target device, additional presence information can be determined. Utilizing a response or responses from the first and second party device(s), (and possibly other devices and/or multiple presence servers), a target device address and a communication mode can be determined, (i.e. where and how to send a communication and to which device).

摘要： A utility for enabling real-time, point-to-point communications over computer networks between users having dynamically assigned Internet Protocol addresses includes the ability to identify incoming communications, and, based on the identity of the incoming communication, selectively responding. In one embodiment, an information profile contained within an incoming signal is compared to a plurality of information profiles contained within the personal directory of a user, and, if a match occurs, the notification signal associated with the matched profile is generated. In an alternative embodiment, the information profile contained within the incoming communication includes an identifier of a notification signal which is used to select from a number of predefined notification signals resident within the user's private directory.

摘要： A system and method for generating storm warnings which are precisely tailored automatically for a particular individual or business user's geographic location of interest. The user establishes an individualized user profile, in which the user may define a particular location of interest and a contact address to which a personalized storm warning is to be delivered. The user may also establish a storm profile defining characteristics of a storm for which the user desires a storm warning to be provided. A detailed and accurate storm track is generated. Generated storm tracks are compared to individual user profiles. Personalized storm warnings are generated for user profiles defining locations of interest within a predicted storm track, if the storm track characteristics of the storm meet the characteristics specified in the storm profile established by the user, and may be delivered to users via e-mail, cell phone, pager, etc.
