A system and method for allowing hand-held/wireless device devices to (1) provide audio/video conferencing; (2) access AV content through streaming and cloud transfer; and (3) offer hand-held and computer access to cameras and sensors for surveillance using ordinary personal computers as proxy servers is described. In a first aspect, a remote view streaming system which comprises a webcam server which enables streaming video over a network is disclosed. The system includes a portable device. The portable device includes a client application. The portable device is configured to receive the streaming video from the network and display it on a screen. The system includes a proxy server for authenticating a connection between the webcam server and the portable device. In a second aspect, a portable device is disclosed. The portable device comprises a client application; wherein the client application includes authentication information to allow connection to the proxy server and in turn can be connected directly to a webcam server if the webcam server has proper authentication.

Techniques to store entries so that minimal sequential memory accesses are used to determine all relevant entries. Entries may be grouped into blocks. The order of entries within blocks may be set in a manner so that entry locations can be determined using an input value, such as a destination address. Blocks may be ordered into levels. Blocks of each level may be stored in consecutive storage locations. Accordingly, entry locations may be determined and retrieved with minimal sequential memory accesses by storing entries in a predetermined manner.

Provided are a communication apparatus of an application for serving communication of a relay node and a method thereof, includes: a plurality of component groups that are configured to perform work by at least one built-in component and correspond to each plurality of different applications; and an assembly controller that outputs control signals to at least one of the plurality of component groups, the plurality of component groups being packaged by setting the connection between each component group. With this, in fabricating application for serving the communication of the relay node that simultaneously needs at least two applications, the application package in a type where each application is combined can be simply and easily fabricated while using the existing application package as it is and since the present invention uses the existing application package as it is, it can perform the applications alone without modifying each application.

Techniques for providing faster and more efficient ways to deploy virtual server configurations in a hosted virtual server service are described. Broadly, a base machine image is created with essential or standard virtual server functionality, and a configuration manager, which allows the virtual server to be customized after instantiation. This post-instantiation customization, which can include network or system parameters, software upgrades or modifications, role specification, specification of locations of other virtual servers, software installation, and loading of application data, allows virtual servers to be customized without the need for separate machine images for each virtual server instance.

The invention concerns a method for warning a user (17) equipped with a terminal (4, 5, 6, 67) during modification of a content in accordance with a content syndication technology in a communication system supporting a session initiation protocol and including a warning server (1) and a content server (2). The method is characterized in that it consists in: transmitting, from a terminal (4) of the user (17) to the warning server (1), a subscription message (9, 18) of said protocol identifying a content in conformity with said content syndication technology stored on the content server (2); receiving at the warning server (1), from the content server (2), an indication concerning a modification of said content; and transmitting a notifying message (11, 10, 23) of said protocol to said user (17), from the warning server (1), when an indication concerning a modification of said content has been received.

Graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for a peer device on a peer-to-peer (P2P) network are disclosed. A client application executing on the peer device provides and enables the GUIs. One of the GUIs may display a media item playlist. The user manages the media items displayed on the media item playlist by utilizing sorting criteria. The media item playlist displays a list of the users subscribing to the P2P network, the title of and information concerning media items recommended by the users and media items stored locally on the peer device, and a score for each media item on the media item playlist. The score may be determined by applying to the media items preferences defined by information provided by the user of the peer device, a profile developed from the defined preferences, and other information provided by the user. The user of the peer device provides the information to the peer device using other GUIs provided and enabled by the client application.

The system and method preferably provides a toolbar to use in a network browser. The toolbar is preferably integrated within a suitable browser program graphical interface as a browser toolbar having its own toolbar graphical interface. The toolbar enables a video file to be selectively uploaded from a publisher computer to a service provider. An HTML video snippet is generated from the video file received from the publisher computer. The HTML video snippet enables access to the stored video file via a browser. The HTML video snippet is distributed to the publisher computer for placement in a publisher web page so as to enable the HTML video snippet to be selected via a browser, In response to the selection of the HTML video snippet, the video data file is played on the networked computer.

The text messaging system consists of mobile terminal (5) connected to mobile communication network (4), information terminal (3) connected to computer network (2), and server (1) connected to the mobile communication network and the computer network. The information terminal (3) has status detection means (22), (23), and (24), and detects an operational status including at least the connection status of the computer network and notifies the server (1) of it. The server (1) has status administration means (8) and (9) and decision means (10). The status administration means (8) and (9) retain the operational status of the information terminal (3) notified from status detection means (24) for each user. The decision means (10) determines a send mode according to the operational status of the information terminal such as whether to send a text message to an information terminal or to send a text message with a network application.
