摘要： An automated banking machine operates to carry out financial transfers responsive to data read form data bearing records. The machine includes a card reader that operates to read data from user cards. The card data corresponds to financial accounts. The automated banking machine further includes a cash dispenser and a receipt printer. The machine is operative to dispense cash to an authorized user based on identifying data including card data, and to cause a financial transfer from an account corresponding to card data through communication with at least one remote computer. The machine includes a check acceptor that operates to determine magnetic symbols included on checks. Cash may be dispensed in exchange for a check received through operation of the check acceptor of the machine.

摘要： The invention relates to a magnetic sensor for checking documents of value and an apparatus and a method, wherein there are used a magnetization device for magnetizing a document of value and the magnetic sensor for detecting magnetic signals of the document of value. The magnetic sensor has two sensor lines which have several magneto-sensitive elements with different main sensitivity directions which are oriented in particular perpendicular to each other. The first sensor line selectively detects first magnetic areas of the document of value of a first coercive field strength and the second sensor line selectively detects second magnetic areas of the document of value of a second coercive field strength. Since the differently coercive magnetic areas of the document of value are detected independently of each other, there can be ascertained reliably and independently of each other two magnetic codings from differently coercive magnetic areas, which are arranged on the same document of value.

摘要： A document processing system comprises an input receptacle for receiving documents. A transport mechanism receives the documents from the input receptacle and transports the documents past an image scanner and a discrimination unit. An output receptacle receives the documents from the transport mechanism after being transported past the image scanner and the discrimination unit. The image scanner obtains an image of the documents, obtains an image of a selected area of the documents, and obtains information contained in the selected area of the document. The discrimination unit determines the authenticity of the document. A system controller directs the flows of documents over the transport mechanism.

摘要： A self-service exchange machine is configured to receive currency from a customer and dispense to the customer a card associated with a value relating to the value of the received currency. The self-service exchange machine includes a coin module for receiving bulk mixed coins input by the customer in a coin hopper in association with the exchange transaction, the coin module being configured to substantially simultaneously receive the bulk mixed coins in the coin hopper, to separate the bulk mixed coins into a single-file stream of coins using a motor-driven rotary sorting device and, following the separation of the bulk mixed coins into a single-file stream of coins, to discriminate between valid and invalid coins using at least one discrimination sensor disposed along the coin path of the single-file stream of coins. The self-service exchange machine also includes a bill module configured to receive bills and to discriminate between valid and invalid bills, a display device, a card dispenser configured to dispense a card having a storage medium for storing a monetary value and a controller coupled to the display device, the coin module, the bill module, and the card dispenser. The controller is configured to determine a total value of valid coins and valid bills input into the coin module and the bill module, to cause the display of a total value on the display device, and to instruct the card dispenser to dispense a card with a monetary value that is related to the total value to complete the exchange transaction. The card is exchanged for the input currency and the monetary value stored on the dispensed card can be for any monetary value input by the customer and is not constrained to a predetermined value or values.

The apparatus includes a DC magnetic field source for inducing a de-magnetization field in any ferromagnetic contraband that may be present within a container, and induction coil sensors for detecting certain characteristic patterns in the “de-mag” field induced by the DC magnetic field source. These certain characteristic field patterns are indicative of contraband arranged in commonly found arrangements of such types of contraband.
