Abstract:
Systems and methods using intelligent barcodes for processing mail, packages, or other items in transport are provided. Systems and methods allowing end-to-end visibility of a mail stream by uniquely identifying and tracking mail pieces are also provided. Systems and methods include the use of standardized intelligent barcodes on mail pieces, a seamless process for mail acceptance, continuous mail piece tracking, and feedback on mail quality in real time. In one embodiment, systems and methods using intelligent barcodes allow a mailing service to provide enhanced acceptance, sorting, tracking, address correction, forwarding, and delivery services. In another embodiment, systems and methods using intelligent barcodes allow a mailing service to identify a mail piece as undeliverable-as-addressed (UAA) and determine a final disposition for the mail piece. In yet another embodiment, systems and methods using intelligent barcodes allow mailers more visibility into the mail stream and information on the quality of their mailings.
Abstract:
There is provided a method and system for the creation of an intelligent document that can be executed upon the occurrence of a precondition. An exemplary method comprises providing displayable contents that include static contents and dynamic contents, and inserting the dynamic contents into the intelligent document separately from the static contents.
Abstract:
In a method for generating franking imprint data for a mail item to be shipped, a set of shipping options for the mail item, from among available shipping options stored in a first memory, is selected at a data processing device, and product vector data are generated from the selected set. A franking imprint authorization request, including the product vector data, is transmitted from the data processing device to a secure device, at which it is verified whether the transmitted product vector data are compatible with the available shipping options, also stored at the secure device. If so, franking imprint authorization data are returned from the secure device to the data processing device and the franking imprint data are generated in response thereto. If compatibility is not verified, request rejection data are returned from the secure device to the data processing device.
Abstract:
A system for enabling users to select combination of characters includes a database, a system restriction module, a rule engine and processing module. The database comprises a list of combinations of characters. The system restriction module comprises instructions to select combinations of characters present in the database, based on input received from a user. The rule engine comprises instructions to add combinations of characters to the characters selected from the database, based on input received from the user. The processing module is configured to apply the input to query the system restriction module and fetch corresponding instructions; apply the input to query the rule engine and fetch corresponding instructions; query the database based on the instructions fetched from the system restriction module; generate complete combinations of characters based on the instructions fetched from the rule engine; and communicate generated complete combinations of characters to the user.
Abstract:
The present subject matter generally relates to techniques and equipment to apply move update address information to mailpieces based on move update requirements. More particularly, the present subject matter relates to a pre-print move update process that updates addresses for moves without affecting stored address data while meeting postal authority standards for move update and pre-sort mailpiece groupings. The move update process is applied to the address data before print and preserves the initial stored address data. The move update address information and initial address information are both printed.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are described for creating composed communication services within a gateway to a telecom network. Composed communication services are virtual services which can be created by a network operator and which combine two or more actual communication services that perform functionality in the telecom network. For example, a composed messaging service can be created for a client, which combines methods from the MMS and SMS communication services. Subsequently, when the client invokes either SMS or MMS services in the gateway, those invocations will be counted against the composed service and the SLA and policy control will be applied against it accordingly.
Abstract:
A system and method configured for a dynamic sorting scheme is disclosed. The method may comprise receiving a mailing data corresponding to multiple mailing pieces, analyzing the mailing data based on an intended geographic destinations of the multiple mailing pieces and determining multiple geographic location groupings, filtering the mailing data into the multiple geographic location groupings, selecting a number of product type groupings based on product information of the multiple mailing pieces, electronically sorting the multiple mailing pieces based on mail qualifier criteria, determining a processing schedule of available sorting equipment and personnel for processing the multiple mailing pieces, simulating the processing of the multiple mailing pieces using the processing schedule, adjusting the processing schedule based on a result of the simulating the processing of the multiple mailing pieces, and sorting the multiple mailing pieces into multiple processing jobs.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for utilizing a digital mailbox to provide additional services with regard to physical mail are provided. A more efficient process for verification of address uses a corresponding digital mailbox to first identify potentially misdirected mailpieces before incurring the expense of a third party address record search. Additionally the system provides notifications related to physical mailpieces using a digital mailbox.
Abstract:
Embodiments described herein provide a shipper a discount for each postal item that is mailed by a delivery service provider. A facilitator offers the shipper an immediate discount that is based on the shipper meeting certain requirements, e.g. purchasing a certain amount of postage value, shipping a certain number of mail items, and/or shipping a certain type of mail item such as a qualified mail piece. The facilitator will receive a rebate from the delivery service provider based on the shipper ability to meet the established requirements.
Abstract:
A system and method for providing information on a map displayed by a mobile device is described. In some examples, the system facilitates user control of map elements, such as dynamically changing map elements based on events that occur at a user's mobile device or at locations associated with the map elements. In some examples, the system enables communication between users via map elements.
