摘要: An oriented graphite layer is formed on a metallic substrate by providing a coating of particulate carbon thereon, heating the coated substrate in a non-reactive atmosphere to a temperature of between 800.degree. and 1350.degree. C. for saturational diffusion of carbon into the substrate and cooling to a temperature below about 200.degree. C., thereby providing a precipitated oriented graphite film at the surface of the substrate. The substrate may be formed by covering a copper or copper alloy member with a continuous layer of nickel, cobalt, nickel alloy or cobalt alloy. In another embodiment, the substrate with an attached graphite coating is spirally bonded onto a copper tube for use in the field of condensation heat transfer.

摘要: A vapor generator (base portion includes a marked surface (inner bottom surface) included in a portion of a surface of the vapor generator. A minimum temperature of the inner bottom surface at which a Leidenfrost phenomenon occurs is at least 5 degrees Celsius higher than a minimum temperature at which the Leidenfrost phenomenon occurs in an area other than the inner bottom surface. The inner bottom surface includes a recessed and protruded structure in which a plurality of recesses and a plurality of protrusions are alternately disposed in a predetermined direction in a planar arrangement at a predetermined interval, and a groove having a width that is greater than the predetermined interval. The recessed and protruded structure is provided inside the groove.

摘要: In one embodiment, a plate for an evaporative cooler is disclosed. The plate may comprise a wicking material with an exposed surface and a sealed surface opposite the exposed surface. An impermeable barrier may be coupled to the sealed surface. One or more masks may line a portion of the exposed surface, wherein the masks may comprise an impermeable material. In some embodiments, the mask may be a strip of impermeable material and may be coupled to a flat area of the top surface. In further embodiments, the one or more masks may align with a liquid wick path of the wicking material. In further embodiments, the one or more masks may line the edge of perforations that pass at least partially through the plate.

摘要: An evaporator or a condenser includes a surface on which the operating liquid is arranged. Further, turbulence generators are provided to generate turbulences in the operating liquid located on the operating surface. In the condenser, alternatively or additionally, a laminarizer is present to make the vapor stream laminar provided by the compressor. On the evaporator side, the evaporation efficiency is increased and, on the condenser side, the condenser efficiency is increased, which may be used for a substantial reduction in size without loss of power of these components, in particular for a heat pump for heating a building.
