Abstract:
An artist's cradle includes a sheet of rigid plastic having a paintable surface on at least one planar surface thereof and a rigid base frame mounted to the underside of the sheet. The sheet is substantially neutral or neutral alkali ph and treated with a heat treatment around at least a periphery of the underside of the sheet. The heat treatment includes heat oxidizing the periphery using a heat source. The rigid frame is bonded by an adhesive to the periphery of the sheet following the heat treatment.
Abstract:
The present invention overcomes the disadvantages of the technology in prior art. It provides a simple structured canvas that allows the artists to choose to apply different background colors. The present invention has advantages over the prior art. That is cost-effective and easy to use. This invention includes coating a non-white layer (2) on the base cloth (1) or coating a white layer (3) on the base cloth (1) and coating on the white layer (3) on non-white layer (2).
Abstract:
Articles comprising simulated stone block walls and artist's canvases may be formed by providing a burlap or canvas substrate, coating the substrate with a layer of gypsum wallboard finishing compound or similar plaster-like composition, and folding or otherwise manipulating the substrate when a predetermined set or hardening of the composition has occurred to create cracks, crevices and chipped corners of the article, for example, to simulate a broken stone block or an aged artist's work.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a composite for fine and graphic art applications. In an exemplary embodiment, the composite has at least three paper layers, one fiberboard layer, and a surface coating. The invention also is directed toward a method for making such a composite, including a method for making an embossed composite. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract which will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.
Abstract:
A dry-transfer stencil is provided for wall decoration. The stencil has at least three bleed-resistant color pigments, including a bleed-resistant magenta pigment, that will not bleed or show through a coat of paint once the stencil is painted over for redecorating. The stencil has an as-applied thickness of 2.5-5, preferably 2.3-5 mils so that it will not be visible through a coat of paint. A plurality of dry-transfer stencils are also provided having designs corresponding to a common design theme. The stencils can be placed by the consumer to provide a custom design suited to that consumer's personal taste.
Abstract:
A method for restretching artist's canvases which have relaxed and lost tension through time and environmental effects includes application of a liquid material, preferably a water based adhesive, to the back surface of the relaxed canvas, which may or may not have a painting on its front surface. The wetting of the canvas tightens the fibers, and when the water based adhesive material dries in the canvas, the canvas remains tight. Several methods of application are disclosed.
Abstract:
The drawing board assembly which is constructed to facilitate portability and also to facilitate usage which takes the form of a base, a backing board and a drawing board. The backing board is adjustable to various inclined positions in respect to the base. The drawing board is to be releasably, pivotally mounted on the exterior surface of the backing board so that the drawing board can be pivoted to any desirable position in respect to the backing board. A storage container for painting or drawing materials is mounted on the upper surface of the base. When in the collapsed, transporting position, the drawing board is located parallel to the upper surface of the base enclosing the storage chamber with the inner surface of the backing board being positioned against the drawing board.
Abstract:
An ink jet recording sheet containing a basic latex polymer is described, which can provide images, having excellent water resistance properties and high image density, by jetting thereonto an aqueous ink containing a water-soluble dye. In the case of applying a multicolor ink jet recording to the recording sheet, color images having excellent color reproduction are obtained.
Abstract:
A transfer paper for use in drawing patterns or marking designs on a sheet material, comprising a base material and on one or both surfaces thereof, a water-soluble or water-dispersible transfer coating comprising cobalt thiocyanate, wax, a non-ionic surfactant and another surfactant.
Abstract:
An artist's medium comprising a rigid backing of non-planar surface, an artist's worksheet and a means for securing the sheet flush to the surface of the backing so that the artist's worksheet has the non-planar contour of the surface of the backing. This medium permits an artist to produce a painting or form of art work on a working surface, portions of which have a different spatial relation, depthwise, with other portions thereof.
