Abstract: An apparatus for blow-molding plastic containers includes at least one blow-molding station that defines at least one molding cavity for forming plastic containers. The blow-molding station includes two lateral bodies and, for each forming cavity defined by the blow-molding station, a bottom. The bottom includes an external body of the bottom that defines an annular portion that extends around the axis of extension of the respective forming cavity, and an internal body that can be accommodated at least partially inside the annular portion, between the external lateral surface of the internal body and the internal surface of the annular portion there being at least one air evacuation opening that extends around the axis of extension and is connected to first air evacuation elements. The internal body is adjustably movable on command with respect to the annular portion along the axis of extension.

Abstract: A method for simultaneously forming and filling a container by injecting a pressurized liquid in a preform. The method includes placing the preform in a mold and injecting the pressurized liquid into the preform such that the liquid expands the preform and urges the wall of the preform against the wall of the molding cavity forming the preform into a container and the container is filled with liquid. A swirl imparting element extends in the injection flow and imparts a swirl flow on the pressurized liquid such that the pressurized liquid applies a centrifugal force on the wall of the preform during forming and filling of the preform, thereby promoting a radial expansion of the preform in radial planes substantially perpendicular to the preform axis.

Abstract: A plastic container is provided that includes a hollow body portion including a lower supporting base portion; a sidewall portion extending upwardly from the base portion; and a neck portion extending upwardly from the sidewall portion. The neck portion includes a support flange having an upper and lower surface, a tamper-evident formation, and a dispensing opening at the top of the neck portion. In embodiments, a closure may be provided to form an assembly. In embodiments, the container is comprised of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a volume of the container is at least 500 ml, and/or the weight of the neck portion is 2.3 grams or less. A preform and method for making a container are also disclosed.
