Abstract: A plastic container includes a hollow body portion including a lower supporting base portion; a sidewall portion extending upwardly from the base portion; and a neck portion extending upwardly from the sidewall portion. The neck portion includes a support flange having an upper and lower surface, at least one thread, and a dispensing opening at the top of the neck portion. In embodiments, a closure may be provided to form an assembly. A preform and method for making a container are also disclosed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a blow mold for shaping plastic preforms into containers having a first and second side part, which are movable relative to one another and, in an assembled state, enclose a cavity at least in sections, within which a plastic preform can be expanded to form a plastic container, wherein the first and/or second side part has at least one channel configured for conveying fluids and extends from an inner surface defining the cavity to an opposite outside surface, and a second channel connected to the first channel extending in sections along the outside surface of the first and/or second side part, wherein the first and/or second channel in a state of the blow mold, in which shaping of a plastic preform into a plastic container within the blow mold is possible, is in fluid connection with a clean room at least on one side.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for shaping plastic preforms into containers, having a transport device, which transports the plastic preforms to be shaped along a transport path, wherein the transport device has a rotatable transport carrier wherein a plurality of shaping stations are arranged. The shaping stations each have blow-molding devices which the preforms are shaped by applying a flowable medium. The shaping stations have application devices which apply the flowable medium to the preforms, wherein the shaping stations have stretching devices for stretching the preforms in a longitudinal direction. The stretching devices have at least one stretching rod which can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the preforms and can be inserted into the plastic preforms. The device has a clean room, which the plastic preforms are expanded into the plastic containers, and a sealing device to seal the clean room from a non-sterile environment, and closed with a cover device.

Abstract: An apparatus for forming plastic preforms into plastic containers includes a rotatable transport carrier on which a plurality of forming stations is arranged, and forming stations each having blow molding devices within which the plastic preforms can be formed into the plastic containers by applying a flowable medium. The forming stations each have stretching devices having at least one stretching rod which can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the plastic preforms and introduced into the plastic preforms. The apparatus also has a clean room within which the plastic preforms are expanded to form the plastic containers. The stretching devices and the forming stations are each arranged on a mold carrier holder and are held thereby, so that the mold carrier holder is designed as a carrying device of the apparatus and walls of the clean room to delimit the apparatus from a non-sterile environment.

Abstract: A plastic preform includes a hollow body portion including a closed base portion and a lower portion and a lower portion extending upwardly from the closed bottom portion; and a neck portion extending upwardly from the lower portion. The neck portion includes a dispensing opening positioned at a top of the neck portion, threads positioned below the dispensing opening, a tamper-evident formation having a lower surface and positioned directly below the threads, and a support flange having an upper surface and a lower surface and positioned below the tamper-evident formation. In an embodiment, the plastic preform is formed of a material comprising polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and a vertical distance from the lower surface of the tamper-evident formation to the lower surface of the support flange is from 0.125 to 0.150 inches. Containers and methods for molding preforms and making containers are also disclosed.

Abstract: Systems and methods for making a reduced material container (105) are provided that hold a preform (130) adjacent to an open end (165) of the preform (130), stretch the preform (130), close a mold (110, 120) about the stretched preform (175) to form a truncated preform (185), and introduce a pressurized fluid (160) into the truncated preform (185) to expand the truncated preform (185) and form the reduced material container (105). A stretch rod (125) can be inserted into the preform (130) to mechanically stretching the preform (130). The mold (110, 120) accepts the preform (130) at a first end (135) thereof, has an open state and a closed state, and the closed state forms a cavity (140) defining an internal surface (145) having a second end (150) located remotely from the first end (135). A first length (155) is defined by a distance between the first end (135) and the second end (150), the stretch rod (125) mechanically stretching the preform (130) to a second length (170), the second length (170) being greater than the first length (155).
