Abstract:
An embodiment provides a method for supporting video transmission and reception in a bitrate selection server of a mobile communication system. The method includes receiving a metadata request of a video from a terminal. The method also includes transmitting the received metadata request to a media server based on the request; receiving a metadata response from the media server. The method also includes storing the received video metadata and transmitting the received video metadata to the terminal. The method also includes requesting subscriber information of the terminal to a Policy and Changing Rules Function (PCRF) and receiving the subscriber information. The method also includes receiving a video segment request of the video from the terminal. The method also includes determining a bitrate of the video based on at least one of the video metadata and the subscriber information.
Abstract:
A method of improving Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP) performance on communication networks and an apparatus adapted to the method are provided. In a communication system including a first server, a second server and at least one connection server for connecting the first and second servers, the communication method using the first server includes: receiving a request for content from at least one client; establishing a bypass connection to directly receive data from the second server; directly receiving data about the content from the second server by using the bypass connection; and transmitting the data to the client.
Abstract:
A mobility parameter adjustment method and apparatus for use in a wireless communication system is provided. The mobility parameter adjustment method of a base station includes receiving connection failure information from a terminal, and adjusting a mobility adjustment parameter based on the connection failure information. The mobility parameter adjustment method and apparatus of the present disclosure is capable of adjusting mobility parameter efficiently so as to improve the mobility robustness of the wireless communication system and User Equipment (UE).
