Abstract: A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) and related apparatus are provided. In the method, the UE receives a set of configuration parameters related to a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) acknowledgement (ACK) codebook from a network entity, and identifies an operating state for each component carrier (CC) of multiple CCs associated with the UE based on the set of configuration parameters. The UE further allocates one or more entries of the HARQ ACK codebook based on the operating state for each CC of the multiple CCs, and transmits the HARQ ACK feedback associated with the one or more entries of the HARQ ACK codebook to the network entity.

Abstract: Aspects are presented that enable a user equipment (UE) to perform simultaneous transmission of supplementary uplink carriers. The UE can transmit, to a base station, a capability message of the UE, the capability message indicating whether the UE supports simultaneous transmission of uplink signaling on supplementary uplink carriers. The UE can receive, from the base station, schedule information scheduling simultaneous transmission of a first uplink transmission on a first carrier in a first cell and a second uplink transmission on a second carrier in a second cell different from the first cell based on the capability message. The UE can transmit, to the base station, the first uplink transmission on the first carrier via the first cell simultaneous with the second uplink transmission on the second carrier via the second cell.

In some more specific aspects, a base station may transmit one or more parameters to a user equipment (UE) that indicate to the UE to refrain from transmitting uplink control information together with uplink data information in an uplink data channel. Abstract: A UE may determine a number of antenna ports associated with a frequency band that includes one or more CCs. The determined number of antenna ports may be based on a plurality of UL Tx chains for the one or more CCs/frequency band. The UE may switch from a first UL Tx chain to a second UL Tx chain, at least one of which may be associated with the one or more CCs/frequency band. The number of antenna ports may correspond to a maximum number of antenna ports of an individual CC of the one or more CCs, or to a sum of antenna ports of the one or more CCs. For the latter, the number of antenna ports may be limited to an available number of UE antenna ports when the sum of antenna ports is greater than the available number of UE antenna ports.

The UE may perform a random access procedure to communicate with the base station. The base station may configure the UE with different sets of preamble parameters for different types of UEs. The UE may generate a random access preamble based on the sets of preamble parameters according to the type of the UE. The base station may indicate a location of the base station to the UE. The UE may identify a location of the UE. The UE may determine a pre-compensation timing based on a distance from the two locations. The UE and the base station may transmit subsequent communication according to the random access preamble, the pre-compensation timing, or any combination thereof.
