    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for generating enhanced trigger frames. Some implementations more specifically relate to trigger frame designs that support gains in data throughput achievable in accordance with the IEEE 802.11be amendment, and future generations, of the IEEE 802.11 standard. In some implementations, an enhanced trigger frame may be used to solicit a non-legacy trigger-based (TB) physical layer protocol convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) from one or more wireless stations (STAs). In some implementations, the enhanced trigger frame may be configurable to support multiple versions of the IEEE 802.11 standard. For example, an enhanced trigger frame may be configured in accordance with a legacy trigger frame format or a non-legacy trigger frame format. Thus, when configured in accordance with the legacy trigger frame format, the enhanced trigger frame can also be used to a legacy TB PPDU from one or more STAs.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for soliciting trigger-based (TB) physical layer protocol convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data units (PPDUs). Some implementations more specifically relate to trigger frame designs that support non-legacy TB PPDU formats. In some aspects, a trigger frame may carry information to be included in a physical layer (PHY) preamble of a TB PPDU solicited by the trigger frame. For example, the information may indicate values of one or more subfields of a universal signal field (U-SIG) associated with the non-legacy TB PPDU format. In some aspects, the information may be carried in a special user information field of the trigger frame. For example, the special user information field may be identified by a special association identifier (AID) value. The special AID value may be different than any AID values assigned to wireless communication devices in a basic service set (BSS) associated with the TB PPDU.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for link adaptation in wireless communications. Some implementations more specifically relate to transmitter-based modulation and coding scheme (MCS) selection. A transmitting device transmits a test packet, over a wireless channel, to a receiving device. The receiving device generates one or more signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) estimates for the wireless channel based on the received sounding packet. In some aspects, each SINR estimate may be associated with a particular modulation order. In some other aspects, each SINR estimate may be generated based on a transmitter configuration or a receiver type to be used for subsequent communications between the transmitting device and the receiving device. The receiving device transmits feedback, including the SINR estimates, to the transmitting device. The transmitting device then selects an MCS to be used for subsequent communications with the receiving device based on the SINR estimates and associated modulation orders.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for group formation and sounding for distributed multi-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO). Some implementations include a method of wireless communication. The method further includes receiving feedback information from the user terminal based on the packet for measuring the channel.     Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for increasing the transmit power of wireless communication devices operating on power spectral density (PSD)-limited wireless channels. Some implementations more specifically relate to LTF designs that support distributed transmissions.     Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for increasing carrier frequencies for wireless communications in wireless local area networks (WLANs). Some implementations more specifically relate to packet designs that support wireless communications on carrier frequencies above 7 GHz. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may map a physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) to orthogonal subcarriers according to existing tone plans associated with carrier frequencies below 7 GHz and may up-clock the PPDU for transmission on carrier frequencies above 7 GHz (such as by increasing the frequency of a clock signal used to convert the PPDU between the frequency domain and the time domain). In some implementations, the PPDU may conform to an existing PPDU format designed for sub-7 GHz wireless communications. In some other implementations, the PPDU may conform to a “green field” PPDU format optimized for wireless communications on carrier frequencies above 7 GHz.

A first physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) may precede a second PPDU.     Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for clear channel assessment (CCA). In one aspect a device performs a first clear channel assessment (CCA) check on a primary subchannel of a channel having a total bandwidth greater than or equal to 40 megahertz (MHz), a plurality of subchannels of the channel collectively spanning the total bandwidth of the channel, the plurality of subchannels including the primary subchannel and one or more secondary subchannels, the primary subchannel and the one or more secondary subchannels each having a bandwidth of 20 MHz, performs, on each of the one or more secondary subchannels, a respective second CCA check, and transmits a communication on the channel based on a status of each of the primary subchannel and the one or more secondary subchannels that is based on the performance of the respective second CCA check or the first CCA check.
