Abstract: An apparatus communicates using a first Radio Access Technology (RAT) and a second RAT. The apparatus receives a first Time Division Duplex Uplink/Downlink (TDD UL/DL) configuration for a first cell using the first RAT. The apparatus also receives a second TDD UL/DL configuration for a second cell using the first RAT. Additionally, the apparatus determines a maximum transmission power for a first transmission using the second RAT based on whether there is a potential overlap between the first transmission using the second RAT and a possible transmission based on the first TDD UL/DL configuration or the second TDD UL/DL configuration during a period of the first transmission or an extended period including the first transmission period.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for multiple radio access technology (RAT) carrier aggregation (CA), such as Long Term Evolution (LTE)-New Radio (NR) CA. The method, in one example, comprises generating a first resource coordination information (RCI) comprising one or more resource coordination bitmaps indicating one or more shortened transmission time intervals (sTTIs) of a TTI assigned to the first RAT for communication, wherein the TTI comprises a plurality of sTTIs. The method further comprises transmitting a message including the first RCI to a second base station that uses a second RAT. The method further comprises receiving an acknowledgement of the message from the second base station, the acknowledgment including a second RCI comprising one or more modified resource coordination bitmaps indicating the one or more sTTIs assigned to the first RAT for communication and one or more additional sTTIs of the TTI assigned to the second RAT.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for power control. For example, a method is provided for wireless communication by a user equipment that includes determining whether a sum of a first power limit for communicating on an uplink associated with a first radio access technology and a second power limit for communicating on an uplink associated with a second radio access technology is greater than an overall power limit for communicating on uplinks by the user equipment. The method further includes scaling down power used for a transmission on the uplink associated with the first radio access technology during the first time or dropping a transmission on the uplink associated with the first radio access technology during the first time when the sum is greater than the overall power limit.

Abstract: Various features presented herein facilitate early data transmission (EDT) in eMTC and NB-IoT. In certain aspects, a UE (e.g., an eMTC and/or NB-IoT type device), may receive an indication in a SIB from a base station that may enable EDT by the UE. The UE may transmit a random access request based on the SIB. The UE may further receive an MCS index in an RAR, and transmit a connection request (e.g., Msg3) to the base station based on the MCS index and the indication in the SIB. Some aspects described herein relate to an improved rate matching technique. In certain aspects, a UE may be configured to transmit a connection request message to a base station based on at least one of an increased number of RVs than a number of RVs for other transmissions from the UE or rate matching performed across more than one subframe.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide for the transmission of group common control information in 5G New Radio (NR) wireless communication systems. Group common control information may be transmitted to a group or subset of user equipment (UEs) within a cell utilizing a beam-sweeping configuration. A base station may utilize a plurality of transmit beams to transmit information within the cell, and a subset of the transmit beams may be identified for use in transmitting the group common control information to the group of UEs. In addition, the base station may identify spatial quasi-colocation (QCL) relationships between reference beams corresponding in direction to the selected subset of transmit beams and resources reserved for the group common control information and provide the spatial QCL relationships to the UEs in the group.
