Abstract: Methods and apparatus for piecewise linear neuron modeling and implementing artificial neurons in an artificial nervous system based on linearized neuron models. Abstract: A backhaul quality is measured. One or more subsets of cell identifiers having a mapped backhaul quality that maps to the measured backhaul quality are identified. The one or more subsets have a set of cell identifiers associated therewith. A network is queried to indicate one or more cell identifiers in the identified subset of cell identifiers available for a user equipment (UE) relay. One of the one or more indicated cell identifiers is selected. If more than one subset of cell identifiers has a mapped backhaul quality that maps to the measured backhaul quality, first and second subsets having respective first and second mapped backhaul qualities are selected and the backhaul qualities are compared relative to a backhaul quality threshold. The mapped backhaul quality that most satisfies the backhaul quality threshold is identified for the network query.

Abstract: Some examples of the techniques described herein may provide encoding or decoding approaches to generate vectors that meet an orthogonality condition in vector compression procedures (e.g., vector compression or decompression). Encoder layers (e.g., neural network layers) on the encode side may generate orthogonal compressed vectors or decoder layers (e.g., neural network layers) on the decode side may generate orthogonal decompressed vectors. For instance, a neural network layer may be trained to generate a compressed or decompressed vector that satisfies an orthogonality condition relative to one or more previously compressed or decompressed vectors in accordance with a dependency order or a compression sequence. An indication of the dependency order may be communicated between the encode side and the decode side to order encoder or decoder layers (e.g., to execute encoder or decoder layers in the compression sequence) to produce compressed or decompressed vectors that satisfy an orthogonality condition.

Abstract: The aspects described herein may enable an apparatus to jointly encode two or more payloads using a single polar encoder device, while providing unequal error protection for the payloads. The apparatus causes a polar encoder to polar encode a first payload and a second payload to generate a polar encoded codeword. The polar encoder is configured to encode one or more bits of the first payload at a first reliability level and encode one or more bits of the second payload at a second reliability level, where the one or more bits of the first payload are associated with a first priority level and the one or more bits of the second payload are associated with a second priority level. The apparatus transmits the polar encoded codeword.
