    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), a first demodulation reference signal for each of one or more sub-bands and configured in accordance with a first one or more demodulation reference signal configurations. The UE may select a second demodulation reference signal configuration from a respective set of second demodulation reference signal configurations for each of the one or more sub-bands and may transmit an indication of the second demodulation reference signal configuration for each of the one or more sub-bands. The base station may receive the indication and may transmit, to the UE, a second demodulation reference signal for each of the one or more sub-bands and configured in accordance with the second demodulation reference signal configuration for each of the one or more sub-bands.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first user equipment (UE) may receive, from a second UE and using a first fast Fourier transform (FFT) window configuration, a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) signal associated with a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) signal. The UE may identify, based at least in part on the reception of the PSCCH signal, one or more values of one or more parameters estimated from the PSCCH signal.     Abstract: A base station may receive from a user equipment (UE) a proactive notification that the UE will perform a beam switch from a first UE beam to a second UE beam. In response, the base station may determine a beam switch slot on which the UE will perform the synchronized beam switch, and perform a link transient mitigation operation for communications with the UE after UE beam switch and until updating channel state information associated with a new UE beam. The base station may then receive from the UE channel state information feedback for a channel associated with the second UE beam, and adjust downlink data transmission parameters to be aligned with the second UE beam based on the received channel state information feedback (CSF). The base station may also adjust uplink data transmission parameters based on a sounding reference signal transmitted by the UE over the second UE beam.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for estimating one or more environmental factors at a first user equipment (UE). The one or more environmental factors may be based on estimates of a Doppler spread and a power delay profile (PDP) taken over a set of subsets of a time period, based on multiple signals received from a second UE or a base station over the time period. The first UE may estimate the Doppler spread and PDP for a channel over each of the set of subsets of the time period, and may combine the Doppler spread over the set of subsets and combine the PDP over the set of subsets. The first UE may use the combined Doppler spread and the combined PDP to determine one or more communication parameters for the channel.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support a single carrier multi-level coding (MLC) amplitude phase shift keying (APSK) modulated waveform. For example, a user equipment (UE) capable to communicate using MLC APSK modulated waveforms may transmit a channel state information (CSI) report, including a recommendation for a waveform configuration, to a base station. The base station may receive the CSI report and may transmit a configuration message to the UE, which may configure the UE with a set of waveform parameters associated with MLC APSK modulation. The UE may receive the configuration message and may communicate with the base station using MLC APSK modulated waveforms and based on the set of waveform parameters, which may reduce phase noise and provide lower peak average power ratio (PAPR) signaling.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station communicates with a UE via transmission reception points (TRPs). A UE receives, from a base station, control signaling identifying a set of demodulation reference signal (DMRS) configurations. The UE receives, from the base station, control signaling activating a first DMRS configuration and a second DMRS configuration. The UE receives an indication for the UE to use a first transmission mode of a set of transmission modes to communicate with multiple TRPs of the base station. The UE selects at least one of the first DMRS configuration or the second DMRS configuration based on the indicated first transmission mode and a pre-defined logical association. The UE then receives DMRS signals from the TRPs of the base station, according to the selected at least one of the first DMRS configuration or the second DMRS configuration.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first wireless device may identify a set of data resource elements for transmitting data in one or more symbols periods. The first wireless device may generate, for the one or more symbol periods based on the set of data resource elements, a sequence of a set of pilot resource elements associated with the set of data resource elements, the sequence of the set of pilot resource elements including a phase tracking reference signal. The first wireless device may transmit, to a second wireless device in the one or more symbol periods, the set of data resource elements and the set of pilot resource elements. The second wireless device may decode a first subset of the set of pilot resource elements based on a second subset of the set of pilot resource elements to determine the phase tracking reference signal.
