    Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for reporting information in real time about traffic generated by each application for a device are described. In one aspect, the network can configure a list of applications user equipment (UE) devices need to report traffic information for and then when one of these applications starts a communication, the UE may send traffic descriptor(s) describing the traffic generated by the application. In this way the network can accurately identify the traffic and take actions based on UE report and local policy or subscription.

    Abstract: In one or more mobile stations of a wireless communication network, a method for network node selection in a wireless communication system by a mobile entity may include receiving, from a home network, a message comprising a policy associated with network node selection, determining whether the home network policy has precedence over a policy of a visited network based on the message, and selecting a network node based on the policy of the home network, in response to determining the home network policy has precedence over the visited network policy. The policy may include at least one of mobility or routing policies. The message may include an indication of precedence between the home network and one or more visited networks. A communication apparatus, for example a mobile entity, may be configured for performing these and other aspects of the method.

    Abstract: Interactions between radio access network (RAN)-based and legacy wireless local area network (WLAN) mobility is described in which a multi-mode mobile device receives a management indication from a wide area wireless network (WWAN) to manage connectivity with the WLAN, such as in discovery, association, or specific traffic offload for the WLAN. The mobile device obtains a status of its internal WLAN radio and determines whether to process the management indication based on the status. Data offloading is also described in which the mobile device receives an indication from the WWAN to offload data to the WLAN associated with the mobile device. In response, the mobile device suspends application of a current offload policy, which had been received from the core network, based on the indication and transmits its data according to the indication.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for supporting, in a device, Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)-Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN) mobility, data offload, and simultaneous usage of different access networks on a per Access Point Name (APN) basis. The device determines an access network among WWAN and WLAN for a data stream having an APN. The device additionally hands off the data stream according to the determined access network, while maintaining Internet Protocol (IP) continuity.
