    Abstract: An example method, apparatus, and computer-readable storage medium are provided for exploration procedures for network optimization. In one example implementation, the method may include generating, by a first network element, exploration data, the exploration data being generated by the first network element for evaluating performance at a second network element; transmitting, by the first network element, the exploration data to the second network element; and receiving, by the first network element, exploration data feedback from the second network element, the exploration data feedback received from the second network element based on processing of the exploration data by the second network element. In another example implementation, the method may include receiving, by a second network element, exploration data from a first network element; generating, by the second network element, exploration data feedback, the exploration data feedback generated in response to and based on the exploration data received from the first network element; and transmitting, by the second network element, the exploration data feedback to the first network element.

The terminal device transmits a tethering request for setting up a tethering cell over at least one communications network to at least one tethering terminal device capable of setting up a tethering cell. Then, the terminal device performs tethering cell discovery for discovering tethering cells set up by any of said at least one tethering terminal device. In response to discovering a tethering cell provided by a tethering terminal device of said at least one tethering terminal device, the terminal device accesses the tethering cell.

    Abstract: A radio access node such as a master eNB determines that a UE can support operation on a given radio band combination comprising a first radio band operating with a first RAT such as E-UTRA and a second radio band operating with a second RAT such as 5G. The node uses a performance capability of the UE to obtain at least a second configuration for the second radio band operating with the second RAT, then configures the UE with the interworking configuration that comprising a first configuration to operate on the first band with the first RAT and a second configuration to operate on the second band with the second RAT. The node may determines that the UE can support such operation from a UE message identifying the band combination and carrying an indicator of the performance capability of the UE on at least the second RAT.
