The apparatus comprises means for composing, after a beam failure has been detected by a user equipment on a resource provided by a first serving cell of the user equipment, beam recovery signaling, the beam recovery signaling indicating at least one candidate beam to be used in beam failure recovery, means for transmitting, to a network entity, the beam recovery signaling on a resource provided by a second serving cell.

Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from an enhanced radio link control status report. A method may include determining a negative acknowledgment sequence number range. The negative acknowledgment sequence number range may include a plurality of consecutive radio link control missing sequence numbers. The method may also include determining at least one of a negative acknowledgment end sequence number when the plurality of consecutive radio link control missing sequence numbers exceeds the negative acknowledgment sequence number range. In addition, the method may include sending a radio link control status report comprising at least one of a negative acknowledgment sequence number, the negative acknowledgment sequence number range, or the negative acknowledgment end sequence number when the plurality of consecutive radio link control missing sequence numbers exceeds the at least one negative acknowledgment sequence number range.

Abstract: A technique includes determining, by a user device, a first preferred downlink beam, sending, by the user device to a base station, an indication of the first preferred downlink beam, receiving, by the user device from the base station, a temporary configuration information at least for use in reporting an updated or second preferred downlink beam, detecting that the user device has not received a connection response message from the base station indicating that a connection has been established between the user device and the base station, determining, by the user device, a second preferred downlink beam, sending, by the user device to a base station in response to the detecting and based at least in part on the temporary configuration information, an indication of the second preferred downlink beam to the base station, and receiving, via the second preferred downlink beam, a connection response message from the base station.
