A portable device and a method for controlling the same are discussed, in which a user may control a display of the device more conveniently and exactly. The portable device includes a main display unit; a flexible display unit; a touch sensor unit configured to sense a touch input of a user; a measurement unit configured to detect expanding of the flexible display; and a processor. The processor is further configured to: when a first image is displayed on a first area which is an expanded area of the flexible display unit, display a second image on a second area which is an additionally expanded area of the flexible display unit when additional expanding of the flexible display unit and a lack of a first touch input to the flexible display unit are sensed.

A mobile terminal including a first display unit, a second display unit having an e-paper display panel, a sensor unit configured to detect an input signal and transmit the detected input signal to a processor, a power unit configured to supply power. The processor is further configured to detect a first time prior to a predetermined period from a second time at which the power of the mobile terminal is turned off, disable a detection of the input signal for the mobile terminal and control a content currently displayed on the first display unit to be displayed on the second display unit between the first time and the second time, and switch a state of the mobile terminal to a power-off state.

A method for controlling a portable device is provided. The method includes detecting bending of the portable device and determining whether to perform motion sensing correction due to the bending; acquiring a motion sensing correction factor for performing the motion sensing correction due to the bending; performing motion sensing correction of at least one motion sensor using the motion sensing correction factor; and controlling the portable device according to the corrected motion sensing.

Disclosed is a display device including a scent emission unit to emit scents, a sensor unit to sense input to the display device, a display unit to display content, and a processor to control the scent emission unit, the sensor unit and the display unit. The processor detects page transition input while a first page included in the content is being displayed on the display unit, implements transition from the first page to a second page in response to the page transition input, and detects a page transition speed. Then, the processor emits a scent corresponding to the second page based on the page transition speed. The processor emits the scent at a first emission speed when the page transition speed exceeds a threshold speed, and emits the scent at a second emission speed faster than the second emission speed when the page transition speed is the threshold speed or less.

A mobile terminal having a terminal body, an audio output module located in the terminal body, a power supply unit located in the terminal body, an earphone port formed on one side of the terminal body and a controller configured to, when a plug of earphone having a cable-type battery is inserted into the earphone port while performing an audio output function, to select an audio output path for at least one of the audio output module or the earphone inserted in the earphone port to output audio sound according to the audio output function and to charge the power supply unit by the cable-type battery is provided. Accordingly, an audio sound can be output through an audio output path selected according to the intention of the user who has inserted the earphone having the cable-type battery.
