Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry configured to, during a physical random access channel (PRACH) procedure, select a first synchronization signal (SS) block from a plurality of SS blocks within a received SS burst set, the SS block selected based on signal quality measurements of the plurality of SS blocks. A PRACH preamble is encoded for transmission to a base station using a PRACH resource subset corresponding to the selected SS block, the transmission using a UE transmit (Tx) beam of a plurality of available Tx beams and transmit power indicated by a power ramping counter. Upon failing to detect a random access response (RAR) from the base station, a second SS block is selected, the power ramping counter is reset, and the PRACH preamble is encoded for re-transmission using a second PRACH resource subset and transmit power indicated by the reset power ramping counter.

Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE) and methods of communication are generally described herein. If the UE is configured by higher layers to transmit, in a set of symbols of a slot, a sounding reference signal (SRS), a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), or a physical random access channel (PRACH); and if a downlink control information (DCI) format indicates that the UE is to receive, in a subset of the set of symbols of the slot, channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS) or a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH): the UE may: cancel transmission of the PUCCH, the PUSCH, or the PRACH in remaining symbols from the set of symbols; and may cancel transmission of the SRS in remaining symbols from the subset of symbols.

Abstract: An apparatus of a Narrowband Internet-of-Things (NB-IoT) user equipment (UE) includes processing circuitry. To configure the NB-IoT UE for open loop transmit power control, the processing circuitry is to decode a narrowband system information block (NB-SIB) to obtain a narrowband physical random access channel (NPRACH) resource set and power control information associated with the NPRACH resource set. A random access channel (RACH) preamble is encoded for transmission with or without repetitions to a base station during a RACH procedure and using the NPRACH resource set. The transmission has transmission power based on the power control information. A narrowband uplink resource assignment received during the RACH procedure is decoded. A connection setup completion message is encoded for transmission to the base station using the narrowband uplink resource assignment.

The first circuitry may be operable to process one or more configuration transmissions from the gNB carrying a rule for Uplink (UL) collisions and process a first Downlink (DL) transmission and a second DL transmission. The second circuitry may be operable to identify a first UL transmission for the first DL transmission and a second UL transmission for the second DL transmission, the first UL transmission overlapping with the second UL transmission in at least one Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbol. The third circuitry may be operable to generate at least one of the first UL transmission and the second UL transmission in accordance with the rule for UL collisions.

The processing circuitry for the apparatus of the gNodeB is to: configure a plurality of bandwidth parts (BWPs) associated with respective numerologies; determine a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) including downlink control information (DCI), the DCI including information on scheduled resources including BWP index for a data transmission to or from a User Equipment (UE), the data transmission to occupy one of the plurality of BWPs or multiple ones of the plurality of BWPs; encode the PDCCH for transmission; and process the data transmission based on the DCI. The apparatus of the NR UE is to: process a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) from a NR gNodeB, the PDCCH including downlink control information (DCI) indicating scheduled resources for a data transmission to or from the UE, the data transmission to occupy one or multiple ones of a plurality of BWPs configured by the gNodeB; and process the data transmission based on the DCI.
