    Abstract: High-speed connectors that simplify connectivity between electronic devices, are simple to use, and are readily manufactured. One example can simplify connectivity by including contacts for power, data, and one or more RF signals into a single connector. One example provides a connector receptacle having a tongue supporting contacts for data and power. A ground contact can encircle the tongue and a shield can be around the tongue, contacts, and ground contact. An RF contact can be positioned between the ground contact and the shield, such that the ground contact and shield provide RF shielding for the RF contact.

    Abstract: A head-mountable device can include a speaker unit that provides structural support to its own components and electrical connections between other components. The arrangement of conductive strips within a back plate of a speaker unit can provide the structural support needed by the components of a speaker while allowing components on opposing sides of the speaker unit to be operably connected to each other. By providing both functions with the conductive strips of a back plate, the total space required is minimized so that the head-securement element (e.g., band) of the head-mountable device maintains a thin profile.

    Abstract: Magnetic connector systems including a plug connector and a connector receptacle. In one example, the plug connector can include a magnetic target around a signal pin, where the signal pin is insulated from a plug enclosure by an insulating housing. The connector receptacle can include a magnet that is attracted to the magnetic target. The connector receptacle can contact the plug enclosure using one or more conductive springs. The one or more springs can deflect during an insertion of the plug enclosure. In another example, this deflection can act to expel moisture from the connector receptacle through drip holes in an enclosure for the connector receptacle.

    Abstract: An accessory device is disclosed. The accessory device may include a light guide assembly that directs light from a light source (or sources) through an opening of the accessory device, and in particular, in a base portion of the accessory device. The light guide assembly may be disposed in a compartment of the accessory device and include a light guide body as well as a light guide insert disposed in an opening of the light guide body. To form the opening, a single cutting operation may cut through the base portion and the light guide body so that the respective openings of the base portion and the light guide body are aligned. The light guide body may be designed to receive the light from the light source and direct or focus the light toward the light guide insert. The light guide insert may refract, scatter, and/or diffuse the light.
