    摘要: A first transceiver in a wireless terminal receives a communication request from a first wireless network. Based on the received communication request, power is selectively provided to a second transceiver in the wireless terminal, and the second transceiver is used to establish a communication link with a second wireless terminal. The first transceiver may be a TDMA transceiver, CDMA transceiver, wireless local area network transceiver, Bluetooth transceiver, or a digital television receiver that receives the communication request from a corresponding type of network, and the second transceiver may be a different one of the receiver types that establishes a communication link with a corresponding type of network. The first transceiver may receive assistance information from the first wireless network. The assistance information may include information that can be used to establish a communication link through the second transceiver with the second wireless network.

The broadcast radio signals include information that identifies a location of the radio station, an antenna associated with the radio station, or the radio station. The device also includes positioning circuitry to allow the device to determine its current location. A controller in the device extracts the information identifying the radio station from the received broadcast signal, and acquires one or more satellites of a navigational system based on the information.

    摘要: The wireless receiver of the present invention accommodates dual-carrier Evolved EDGE without significantly impacting existing receiver architectures. The inventive receiver comprises a shared local oscillator and two image-rejecting downconverters. The local oscillator generates a local oscillator frequency between two carrier frequencies of adjacent radio channels. The receiver receives a signal in each of the adjacent radio channels. In a dual-carrier mode, a first image-rejecting downconverter uses the local oscillator frequency to downconvert a first signal received in the first radio channel while rejecting a second signal received in the second radio channel. A second image-rejecting downconverter uses the local oscillator frequency to downconvert the second signal while rejecting the first signal. In a diversity mode, the first and second image-rejecting downconverters use the local oscillator frequency to downconvert the signal received in one of the radio channels while rejecting the signal received in the other radio channel.
