Abstract:
A recording medium feeder includes: a tray on which a plurality of recording medium are to be stacked; a feed roller that feeds the recording medium stacked on the tray; a first friction member provided on the tray and having high friction coefficient; and a second friction member provided on the tray at a position opposing the feed roller and having low friction coefficient that is lower than the friction coefficient of the first friction member, wherein the first friction member is configurable to be in one of positions of a protruded position in which a surface of the first friction member is protruded from a surface of the second friction member towards the feed roller and a retracted position in which the surface of the first friction member is arranged to be not higher than the surface of the second friction member.
Abstract:
A sheet feeder includes; a sheet feed roller that abuts against a topmost sheet of stacked sheets and rotates to convey the topmost sheet in a conveyance direction; an arm spanning across a drive shaft and the sheet feed roller; a rotating transmission member that transmits rotation of the drive shaft to the sheet feed roller, wherein the arm is provided with a cantilever shaft that supports the rotating transmission member, and an elastic member that faces an end face of the rotating transmission member to retain the rotating transmission member in the cantilever shaft.
Abstract:
A sheet guiding system guides different sized sheets so as to be fed in a first direction. Sheets stacked on a sheet tray are guided by selectively using a fixed guide, a first movable guide, and a second movable guide. The fixed guide is provided on the sheet tray immovably in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The first and second movable guides are provided on the sheet tray and are movable in the second direction. The fixed guide and the first movable guide are used to sandwich and guide the sheets that have a first dimension in the second direction equal to or larger than a predetermined dimension, which is, for example, a width of an A4 size sheet. The first and second movable guides are used to sandwich and guide the sheets that have a second dimension in the second direction smaller than the predetermined dimension.
Abstract:
The laser printer 1 is provided with a sheet stack portion 5 on which recorded sheets discharged through a discharge port 6 are stacked, and feed rollers 7b which slide the stacked sheets so as to move away from the discharge port 6. The laser printer 1 performs the slide of the stacked sheets on the stack portion 5 by detecting the height of the stacked sheets or counting the number of stacked sheets and operating the feed rollers 7b based on the detection or count result.
Abstract:
A sheet feed device has a tray with holding surface for holding sheets, a feed unit for feeding sheets from the tray, and a separation plate. The separation plate has an inclined surface and two or more separation portions that separate a sheet from the sheets held in the tray. At least one of the separation portions projects a first distance from the inclined surface. The separation plate also has a projection positioned on the inclined surface that projects a second distance from the inclined surface. The second distance is greater than the first distance. A first of the separation portions is positioned upstream of the particular projection in the sheet feed direction, and a second of the separation portions positioned downstream of the particular projection in the sheet feed direction.

Abstract:
An image recording device is provided, having a recording unit configured to record an image on a sheet, and a tray disposed below the recording unit. The tray includes a sheet holding surface configured to hold the sheet. Additionally, the image recording device includes a sheet feeder disposed between the recording unit and the tray. The sheet feeder includes a roller for feeding the sheet from the tray. The roller is configured to move between a first roller position in which the roller contacts the sheet holding surface of the tray and a second roller position in which the roller is separated from the sheet holding surface. A return guide, disposed between the recording unit and the sheet feeder, defines a second conveying path to guide the sheet having an image recorded on one side thereof back to the feed guide. The return guide has a first opening configured to accommodate the roller of the sheet feeder when the roller is in the second roller position.
Abstract:
An image recording apparatus including a first tray having a first holding portion for holding sheets, a second tray disposed above the first tray and including a second holding portion for holding sheets, a sheet feeder that selectively feeds a sheet from one of the first tray and the second tray in a sheet feed direction, a recording unit that records an image on the sheet fed by the sheet feeder, and a discharge roller that discharges the sheet on which the image is recorded by the recording unit. The second holding portion of the second tray moves above the first holding portion of the first tray. The second tray further includes a discharged sheet receiving portion for receiving the sheet discharged by the discharge roller. The second tray including the discharged sheet receiving portion pivots relative to the first tray.
Abstract:
An image printing apparatus includes an image printing unit, a manual feed tray and a feeding mechanism. The manual feed tray is configured to receive a first printing medium to be fed and is movable between a feeding position and a retracted position. The feeding mechanism is configured to feed a specific tray, on which a second printing medium is mounted, from an inlet to the image printing unit through a first path. The feeding mechanism is further configured to feed the first printing medium received by the manual feed tray to the image printing unit through a second path different from the first path. The image printing apparatus further includes a sensor configured to detect a current position of the manual feed tray. The image printing apparatus performs printing on the second printing medium mounted on the specific tray on the basis of the current position of the manual feed tray detected by the sensor.
Abstract:
An image reading device includes a tray unit, a recording unit disposed above the tray unit, an outer guide defining a curved path extending from the tray unit to the recording unit, a sheet feeder configured to feed a sheet from the tray unit to the curved path, and a return guide disposed between the recording unit and the tray unit. The return guide pivots about a shaft and guides the sheet having an image recorded thereon back to the curved path. The tray unit includes at least one supporting portion. The return guide includes at least one supported portion. The at least one supporting portion of the tray unit engages the at least one supported portion of the return guide such that the return guide takes a guiding position in which the return guide defines a return path extending to the curved path.
