Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining a set-point voltage for a piezoelectric actuator system to achieve a desired optical response of the piezoelectric actuator system, such as an optical power. The method is based on a mathematical model, OP(V,T,n) describing a relationship between the applied voltage and the optical response. Calibration and use of the model involves determining a transition time count value. During use, e.g. at given intervals, the model is updated based on actual values of the temperature and the transition time count value. The set-point voltage required to achieve a desired optical response is determined based on the updated model and the set-point voltage is applied to the piezoelectric actuator.

Abstract: Described herein are example fluid guards that can be used with locking devices. Various aspects may be particularly applicable to electrical locks, but they may also be applicable to mechanical locks. A locking device guard can include a guard cover, a fluid absorber, and a coupling element. The fluid absorber can be configured in a closed configuration to fit at least partially within a cup of a lock face. The coupling element can be configured to couple the guard cover to the lock and can define a second axis. The coupling element can be configured to allow the guard cover to rotate about the second axis.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a video game based seasonal reward distribution system. The seasonal reward system can provide users with a non-linear map that allows the users to choose how to progress through the reward map when advancing or leveling up a virtual character or user account within the video game. The virtual map can provide a visual representation of a non-linear pathway or tracks that a user can follow based on how the user would like to proceed and what types of rewards the user prefers to unlock. The reward map provides a series of reward nodes connected by links, resulting in a plurality of pathways or tracks that a user can select during advancement within the video game. The user can select individual reward nodes when the virtual character levels up and progress along a pathway on the virtual map.

Abstract: Apparatus, including a retaining structure (54), positioned near a subject's eye that has a pupil with a diameter, an optical combiner (52A) mounted on the structure before the eye, and a pixelated screen (60A) having an array of variably transparent pixels coating the combiner. There is an image capturing device (68A) mounted on the structure to capture an image of a scene viewed by the eye, and a projector (64A) is mounted on the structure to project at least one of a portion of the captured image and a stored image onto a section of the screen at a selected location thereof. A processor (26) renders the screen section at least partially opaque, selects the section location in response to a region of interest in the scene identified by analysis of the captured image, and determines a dimension of the section in response to the pupil diameter.
