Abstract: Methods and apparatus for adjusting transmission power in wireless networks are provided. One aspect of the disclosure provides an apparatus for wireless communication. The apparatus includes a processing system configured to receive a message instructing each of multiple devices to transmit a packet at least partially concurrently with each transmission of the other multiple devices. The processing system is further configured to generate the packet. The packet includes an indicator having a value greater than a time associated with a transmission of the packet. An interface is configured to provide the packet for transmission.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication are disclosed. In some aspects, a method includes receiving from a transmitting device, via a receiving device, a first wireless frame, the first wireless frame forming at least a portion of a wireless communication exchange between the transmitting device and the receiving device, transmitting to the transmitting device, in response to the first wireless frame, a second wireless frame indicating that the receiving device will enable protection for a remaining portion of the wireless communication exchange, transmitting during a contention period, in response to the indication, a frame reserving the wireless medium for a time period; and receiving, via the receiving device, the remaining portion of the wireless communication exchange from the transmitting device during the time period.

Abstract: An access point (AP) may prioritize the allocation of uplink resources between multiple basic service sets (BSSs). In some aspects, the AP may select one of a plurality of BSSs, may allocate one or more random-access resource units (RUs) to only the selected BSS, and may transmit, for each of the selected BSSs, a respective frame indicating the random-access RUs allocated to that BSS. Wireless devices belonging to the selected BSS may contend for access to the random-access RUs allocated by the frame, and then transmit uplink data using the random-access RUs.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for allocating multi-user resources are provided. In one aspect, the disclosure provides for a method of wireless communication with a plurality of wireless stations. The method comprises transmitting, by an access point, a first communication to a first wireless station, the first communication comprising an indication of a group of wireless stations from among the plurality of wireless stations, the group of wireless stations comprising the first wireless station. The method further comprises receiving, by the access point, a second communication from the first wireless station. The method further comprises transmitting, by the access point, a third communication to the group of wireless stations, the third communication comprising data for the group of wireless stations. In certain aspects, the third communication comprises a block acknowledgment of at least a portion of the second communication.

Abstract: A wireless device may utilize enhanced OBSS identification techniques to determine whether an interfering transmission is associated with an OBSS. In an example, a wireless device may receive a WLAN packet that includes a preamble and a data region. The wireless device may analyze the preamble to determine whether the WLAN packet is an OBSS packet. If the wireless device determines there is insufficient information in the preamble to identify the WLAN packet as an OBSS packet, the wireless device may decode a portion of the data region (e.g., a MAC header) to determine if the WLAN packet is an OBSS packet. Prior to declaring a successful decoding of the MAC header, the wireless device may confirm the MAC header has been received reliably. Additionally or alternatively, BSS identifiers may be included in the data region and used to determine if the WLAN packet is associated with an OBSS.

Abstract: Methods and systems of providing uplink (UL) transmission power control are provided. The UL transmission power control is provided between access points (APs) and wireless stations in a multi-user (MU) unlicensed wireless network. The disclosed method includes participating in a first wireless communication between an AP and at least one station of a plurality of stations in an unlicensed wireless network, and using an uplink UL transmission power parameter transmitted from the AP to the at least one station to regulate UL power control of UL transmissions between the at least one station and the AP.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. A wireless node may detect and resolve collisions in reduced version of basic service set identifiers (BSSIDs). The collisions may be the result of multiple basic service sets (BSSs) using the same values for reduced versions of BSSIDs. For example, the BSSs may use the same value for X-bit color indicators which results in a color collision if the BSSs are neighbor BSSs. When such a scenario occurs, the node may detect the collision by referencing reduced version BSSID information from broadcasts or backhaul communications with one of the involved BSSs. Alternatively, the node may determine that frames from two different BSSs include the same color bits. The node may resolve the detected color collision by triggering a change in the reduced version BSSID for one of the involved BSSs.

Abstract: A method includes sending, from an access point of a wireless network to a first station of a plurality of stations of the wireless network, a packet including a preamble, a data portion, and trigger data that includes non-precoded, omni-direction data. The preamble precedes the data portion. The data portion precedes the trigger data. The trigger data is configured to cause the first station to perform a channel measurement responsive to receiving the packet. The access point sends beamformed data to one or more of the plurality of stations. At least one of the plurality of stations includes a mobile station configured to receive the beamformed data. The method also includes receiving, at the access point from the first station, feedback information that includes channel state information associated with the trigger data. The feedback information is received from the first station without polling individual stations of the plurality of stations.
