Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for a user equipment (UE) to activate a bandwidth part (BWP) during a dual active protocol stack (DAPS) handover with a supplementary uplink (SUL). In one aspect, a base station may receive an indication that the UE supports DAPS handover. The base station may transmit a configuration or an instruction that indicates an active BWP for the UE to use for a target cell or target master cell group (MCG). In another aspect, the UE may transmit on a normal uplink (NUL) in an active BWP for a NUL carrier and transmit on a SUL in an active BWP for a SUL carrier. The UE may establish, in association with a DAPS handover being triggered, an active UL BWP that is within an active UL BWP for the NUL carrier or an active UL BWP for the SUL carrier.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for carrier group based multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) layers and antenna adaptation. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a configuration of one or more groups of component carriers (CCs) and, for each group of CCs, one or more sets of configured maximum number of MIMO layers. Each set includes a configured maximum number of MIMO layers associated with each CC in the group. The UE receives an indication of at least one of the one or more sets and determines the configured maximum number of MIMO layers associated with each CC in the corresponding group of CCs based on the indication.

Abstract: Aspects are provided which allow a first wireless device such as a UE or base station to prioritize beams which are simultaneously received from or transmitted to cells of different numerologies or which are asynchronous to each other. The device determines an overlap in time between a first signal from a first cell and a second signal from a second cell, where the second cell includes at least one of a different numerology than the first cell or an asynchronous timing relative to the first cell. The device applies a beam prioritization rule for selecting a beam associated with the first signal or the second signal carrying information in separate beams. The device transmits information to or receives information from a second wireless device based on the selected beam. Thus, simultaneous beam conflict resolution may be improved for cells having different numerologies or asynchronous timing.

Abstract: A UE may be configured for half-duplex communications. An access point may configure half-duplex UEs for efficient resource utilization using two of more different half-duplex configurations that include different timing for channels in different directions. A UE may determine a half-duplex configuration for use in communicating with the access point, each slot of the half-duplex configuration including at least a PDCCH on a downlink frequency and an uplink short burst on an uplink frequency, and each slot associated with a HARQ timeline. The UE may determine a direction for a slot. The UE may transmit or receive according to the direction for the slot and the half-duplex configuration.

The UE may be further configured to generate a first message associated with a two-step RACH procedure including a preamble and a payload, the payload including data on an uplink data channel and at least one reference signal. The UE may be further configured to transmit the first message to the base station using at least one of the at least two different RACH request configuration parameters that corresponds to an RRC state of the UE. The preamble may be transmitted on a first set of resources associated with a RACH occasion, and the payload may be transmitted on a second set of resources.

The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the prioritization rule, the first uplink communication to a target base station and the second uplink communication to a source base station using time-division multiplexing during the make-before-break handover procedure.
