    Abstract: Methods are provided for configuring an initial CORESET and associated search space during beam management. A base station (BS) receives measurements of at least one downlink reference signal (RS) from a User Equipment (UE), wherein each of the at least one downlink RS is associated with a transmit beam. The BS selects, based on the received measurements, a transmit beam for transmitting on resources of an initial time and frequency control resource set (CORESET), wherein the initial CORESET schedules unicast Physical Downlink Data Channel (PDSCH) for the UE, wherein the initial CORESET is identified during initial access of the UE to the BS. The BS transmits information relating to the initial CORESET on the selected beam in a Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Element (MAC-CE), wherein the information is transmitted using a combination of bits in the MAC-CE, the bits configured for indicating CORESETs.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide enhancements to enable per transmission reception point (per-TRP or per beam group) based beam failure recovery (BFR), and more particularly, techniques for configuring physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) BFR for TRP specific BFR. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes communicating using beams associated with at least two beam groups, transmitting a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) specific to a first beam group of the at least two beam groups based on a detected beam failure in the first beam group, and receiving a response to the BFRQ based, at least in part, on how the BFRQ is transmitted.

    Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to configuring a media access control (MAC)-control element (CE) to update a sounding reference signal (SRS) beam within a wireless communication system. Other aspects described herein relate to configuring default beam information for determining a beam for data channel communications within the wireless communication system. A user equipment (UE) or other device can determine to use the default beam information for configuring the beam for a data channel communication and for performing power control using, e.g., physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) parameters. In addition, in some examples, the device can transmit the data channel communication using a beam configured based on the default beam information.

    Abstract: A configuration to enable a wireless device to resolve a conflict between configured transmit beams and configured receive beams in a self-interference measurement configuration. The first wireless device receives, from a second wireless device, a configuration for a self-interference measurement. The first wireless device determines whether a conflict is present between a configured transmit beam and a configured receive beam. The first wireless device resolves the conflict between the configured transmit beam and the configured receive beam. Similarly, a second wireless device configures a configuration for a self-interference measurement for a first wireless device. The second wireless device determines whether a conflict is present between a configured transmit beam and a configured receive beam of the configuration. The second wireless device resolves the conflict between the configured transmit beam and the configured receive beam. The second wireless device transmits, to the first wireless device, the configuration for the self-interference measurement.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may perform, in a full duplex communication mode, a channel measurement (CM) procedure associated with a self-interference measurement (SIM) procedure to determine a downlink signal to self-interference plus noise ratio associated with a downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) (DL/UL) beam pair of the UE; receive, from a base station, uplink interference information associated with a UL beam of the DL/UL beam pair of the UE, wherein the uplink interference information indicates at least one of: a final DL/UL beam pair selected by the base station; and transmit a measurement report based at least in part on the CM procedure and the SIM procedure, wherein the measurement report is based at least in part on the downlink signal to self-interference plus noise ratio.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficient identification of spatial parameters for receiving control information in an initial coreset. In one example, a user equipment (UE) may receive a transmission configuration indication (TCI) state indicating reference signals quasi co-located with a control information transmission in a coreset. The TCI state may be identified from a set of TCI states, where the set of TCI states includes at least one TCI state corresponding to each synchronization signal block (SSB) (e.g., each quasi co-location (QCL) source) associated with the initial coreset. The UE may identify spatial parameters for monitoring the coreset for the control information transmission in accordance with the TCI state.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques to improve reliability and robustness for millimeter wave (mmW) systems in fifth generation (5G) wireless communications technology (also referred to as new radio (NR)). Specifically, the present disclosure provides techniques to allow the base station to group a plurality of mmW beams for communication with the user equipment (UE) such that the selected beam(s) for communication are independent and uncorrelated. The selection of beams ensure macro-diversity in that the joint blocking probability of the selected beam(s) may be minimized and the susceptibility to blockage is reduced in comparison to the current systems.
