Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for wireless communication. In one aspect, a multi-transmit-receive point (TRP) approach for hybrid automatic repeat request (HARD) acknowledgment (ACK) feedback using counter downlink assignment indicators (DAIs) (cDAIs) and total DAIs (tDAIs) is provided. For example, some techniques and apparatuses described herein may provide a joint counting method in which cDAIs and tDAIs are implemented and tracked jointly between the TRPs of a multi-TRP group. This may be useful in the ideal backhaul scenario when the multi-TRP group is jointly scheduled, and may be more robust against errors than a separate counting method. Some techniques and apparatuses described herein may provide a separate counting method, in which cDAIs and tDAIs are implemented and tracked separately by the respective TRPs of a multi-TRP group.

Abstract: A configuration to enable a UE to obtain access to an unlicensed frequency channel of the unlicensed frequency spectrum in the event of channel access failures. The apparatus receives a configuration from a first base station to perform a conditional handover. The apparatus determines a first unlicensed frequency channel is unavailable for a transmission to the first base station or from the first base station. The apparatus switches from the first unlicensed frequency channel to a second cell for communication through the second cell in the conditional handover upon receiving the configuration and upon determining that the first unlicensed frequency channel is unavailable for the transmission.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to transmitting communication signals are provided. Abstract: A periodic quiet interval is provided for base stations attempting to access a shared transmission medium in NR-U. The base station activates a quiet interval at a periodic interval and transmits on the medium based on the quiet interval. The base station may reduce a Tx power, not transmit, and/or may increase a minimum value of a contention window for BEB during the quiet interval. The base station may receive a request from a second base station to activate the quiet interval, and may determine if a Tx power of the base station is larger than the maximum Tx power of the second base station. The base station may also receive the request as relayed through a UE. The quiet interval can thus ameliorate a starvation effect of BEB in NR-U by allowing base stations with smaller Tx power greater opportunity to control the medium while maintaining BEB in NR-U.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide a code block group (CBG) based HARQ retransmission process in which HARQ retransmission is performed based on CBG units. The CBG based HARQ process uses a CBG failure mask that can reduce the signaling overhead of CBG-based HARQ retransmissions. A base station can determine the error CBGs from different UEs that share a slot, and generate a CBG failure mask that capture all the CBGs NACKs from the UEs.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for rate-matching for a transmission by multiple transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states, such as a multiple transmission reception point (multi-TRP) transmission. A method by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving one downlink control information (DCI) scheduling a downlink transmission associated with multiple transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states. The UE determines whether the downlink transmission is associated with one rate matching or is associated with a separate rate matching for each of the multiple TCI states. The UE derate matches the downlink transmission based on the determination.
