    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive a set of indicators indicating that a first transmission is scheduled for concurrent transmission with a second transmission, wherein the user equipment is not configured to transmit the first transmission and the second transmission concurrently. The user equipment may select one of the first transmission or the second transmission for transmission based at least in part on a characteristic of at least one of the first transmission or the second transmission identified using the set of indicators. The user equipment may transmit the selected one of the first transmission or the second transmission based at least in part on selecting the one of the first transmission or the second transmission. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently signaling configurations of physical resources and transmission parameters to a user equipment (UE) for small data transmissions (for example, data transmissions in an inactive or idle state). A base station may broadcast or multicast downlink control information (DCI) in one or more control channels that schedules data transmissions in a set of data channels. The base station may then multicast one or more configurations in each of the data channels, and a UE may decode one of the data channels to determine a configuration for a small data transmission. Because the configurations may be transmitted in the data channels in addition to system information or paging information, a base station may have access to sufficient resources to provide suitable configurations to a UE for communications in an inactive or idle state.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described related to a duty cycle configuration for power saving. A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling indicating a duty cycle for cycling between a first power state associated with a first configuration and a second power state associated with a second configuration. In some examples, the first and second configurations may indicate a bandwidth part (BWP) configuration, restricted reception or transmission of one or more channels within the BWP configuration, or both for the UE. The UE may communicate first data traffic in accordance with the first configuration while operating in the first power state. The UE may transition from the first power state to the second power state in accordance with the duty cycle. The UE may communicate second data traffic in accordance with the second configuration while operating in the second power state.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may be configured to receive configuration information from a base station, and the configuration information may indicate at least two different random access channel (RACH) request configuration parameters that each is associated with a respective radio resource control (RRC) state. The UE may be further configured to generate a first message associated with a two-step RACH procedure including a preamble and a payload, the payload including data on an uplink data channel and at least one reference signal. The UE may be further configured to transmit the first message to the base station using at least one of the at least two different RACH request configuration parameters that corresponds to an RRC state of the UE. The preamble may be transmitted on a first set of resources associated with a RACH occasion, and the payload may be transmitted on a second set of resources.

    Abstract: Fallback procedures for user equipments (UEs) are described that provide efficient fallback to a four-step random access procedure from a two-step random access procedure. For example, after transmitting a first message of a two-step random access procedure, a UE may start a fallback timer or counter and monitor for a second message of the two-step random access procedure for the duration of the fallback timer or counter. At the expiration of the fallback timer or counter, the UE may fall back to a four-step random access procedure. In some cases, the UE may transmit multiple repetitions of the first message and monitor for responses after transmitting the repetitions or after each repetition. Additionally or alternatively, the base station may transmit an explicit signal to the UE that may signal to the UE to perform a fallback procedure at a beginning or middle of a random access procedure.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to receive a broadcast message from a base station, the broadcast message including an indication pertaining to system information for reduced-capability UEs including UEs with a bandwidth capability below a threshold, the UE being a reduced-capability UE. The UE may determine, based on the indication in the broadcast message, whether system information for reduced-capability UEs is scheduled to be broadcast by the base station. The UE may then obtain the system information for reduced-capability UEs in accordance with the indication in the broadcast message.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a dual connectivity configuration for a plurality of communication links, where at least one communication link of the plurality of communication links includes a sidelink. The UE may transmit a report based on an event associated with the sidelink. In some cases, the UE may determine the event associated with the sidelink based on identifying an activation of the at least one additional sidelink carrier, establishing a relay communication link between the UE and a relay network node, measuring a set of path loss values, determining a minimum path loss value of the measured set of path loss values, determining a backoff value for one or more sidelink carriers, or any combination thereof.
